“Nice sized space. Definitely a work in progress in the repairs and upgrades to the house itself. Fridge was clean, spaces were clean, the bed was comfy and we liked having that TV for background noise while we were there. The kids at the park were a little noisy and the walls weren't very sound proof from the outside world. Overall, very enjoyable stay. ”

“Christine’s place was perfect for our weekend stay. We were able to easily uber to downtown Detroit and were super close to great shops and restaurants in ferndale. The neighborhood is cute and quiet and the fenced in backyard space is a big bonus. Parking is a little tricky due to the layout of the streets in the neighborhood but we figured it out pretty quickly. The house itself is clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. ”

“Our pre-stay interaction was ok after the shock of the owner not seeming to be aware of our reservation. But was kind enough to let us pay for an early arrival.What we found when we arrived: Snowy, wet day and not mats in front of the door...track snow/slush into the house. Barely any heat in the main living area...registers warm, but not blowing heat. Shower with no pressure. No hair dryer. Washer and dryer not working. This property was not prepared for a stay. But the view is...

“I stayed here while traveling for work. It was a nice home and very comfortable. My only complaint was that the pillows on the bed in the room with the TV were too hard. I borrowed one from one of the other bedrooms and that was perfect. The host was responsive and helpful. Would definitely stay again. ”

“I needed a place to stay with my dog and this place was very good. It was clean and convenient. I was a little nervous staying alone in a neighborhood I didn't know, but the school across the street made me feel better. I would suggest that the host make the lock on the back door more sturdy. My son who visited for dinner was a little worried about lock.”

“The neighborhood was quiet, with plenty of options for local spots or chain restaurants nearby. The house was nice, clean and as described. Plenty of room for our family of four and our dog. The fenced in yard made having our dog with us nice and easy. Overall, a great place to stay, we enjoyed our time there!”

“I was very happy with my stay at Sonder. The location was great; walkable distance to everything I wanted to see. Having all the amenities of a studio apartment really helped me to save money by being able to cook and store food. The only slight complaint is that it could have been a little bit cleaner; but I would definitely stay here again next time I am in Detroit!”

Had high expectations !

"Love the Shinola design and was very excited to stay here - but will not return. Dont get me wrong, the design of the room was great and the check in was friendly and a glass of bubbly was received. The films telling about brand, materials, design etc was great to watch. Comfortable bed. But the cleaning between the days was so poor and had dust in the corners and mold in the "zink hole". Don't even think the pillows were fluffed between the days. The beautiful Shinola alarm clock showed wrong time (1 hour) and be prepared to wait very long if you having breakfast in house. It did not live up to expectations and there are plenty of other hotels out there I rather try next time. But location is great, value for money less."
