“Lucini cottage is one of a small group of cottages set in secluded street just off the main road in Hepburn. All I can say, is WOW, what a gorgeous and welcoming place. We arrived on a very cold night and after a long drive we appreciated that the lights and gas log fire place were on to greet us. Beautifully decorated and very cozy and only few minutes drive to Daylesford town centre.”

“Overall our stay was good. We found Kate to be lovely and gave us a good run down of the in and outs of the cottage. For staying at the cottage in winter though we did struggle a bit to get the house warm, and had an issue with the power and water on the first night. Both were sorted out quickly though. It doesn’t have wifi, but the tv and in built dvd player worked well. It was great that the stove top has gas, and the kitchen mostly has all that you need. The rooms were found to be cosy, but...

“We were initially disappointed with the lack of air conditioning although listed for the property, however following a phone conversation where our concerns were put at ease, and the property was lovely and cool as stated made it very comfortable. All-in-all, a very satisfactory stay”

“This was our second stay at The Shack - Alison is a very welcoming host and provides a lovely selection of breakfast items. The open fire is lovely - bathroom chilly so leave the door open to get heat in there - highly recommended location!”

“The double spa bath is very welcome and decadent. The exterior is fun and has a luxurious cottage feel. Outside of that the cottage felt underwhelming, tired and in need of some repair. The bathroom needs regrouting, the vanity light wasn't working, the bed felt small, the main TV kept restarting and the light in the kitchen had a cardboard-box shade. All the appliances felt tired and in need of replacement. For the amount paid, it felt more like a 3 star than a 4 or 5 star stay.”

“This cottage ticked all the boxes for us -comfortable, well-furnished, and cute as a button. The bedroom has good bedside lamps for reading and we slept well. The kitchen and living space are well designed and attractively styled. The air-con cools the house nicely, and the fireplace looks very inviting for the winter months. But lovely as the interior is, our favourite spot was the front porch with its sunny aspect and restful view of trees. Hard to say who liked it more - us or our kelpie....
