The Escape: Wild Azalea House
Escape to Wild Azalea House — a private 3-bedroom mountain chalet nestled on five secluded acres, just 20 minutes from the Shenandoah National Park entrance. This is my personal sanctuary, a place where I come to clear my mind and relax in peaceful nature.
Immerse yourself in tranquility with a relaxing barrel sauna, a six-person hot tub for stargazing under incredibly clear night skies, and a cozy outdoor fire pit area. This house exceeded my expectations. The cleanliness stood out immediately — every room was immaculate and well‑organized. The amenities were fantastic, including a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable bedding, fast Wi‑Fi, and little touches that made the stay even better. The host was responsive and welcoming, which made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. I’d definitely book again.

Beautiful house in a quiet, gorgeous, rural neighborhood. The house is on several acres so feels very secluded like we wanted as we needed a break from city living. I loved taking morning runs there passing by deer, cows, goats, and amazing scenery. And after a long day of running and hiking, the hot tub and sauna soothed our aching muscles. The hot tub has the best jets and the sauna was super hot in the best way. The house was fully stocked and I really appreciate not having to buy extra TP and paper towels. The only 2 small cons: only 1 TV in the house and it's a projector smart tv (exactly as described in listing) so we had to set it up/take it down and it's hard to see in daylight hours. Also the hot tub was next to the primary bedroom and the heater for it turns on and off all night and kept waking us up. We had to move to a smaller bedroom/bed where we could not hear it.

The hot tub was perfect, and being able to sit outside and hear the bubbling steam nearby was so relaxing :) A great addition to our nature getaway! The kids also enjoyed the projector for nighttime family movies. Very cozy and fun!

We had a great stay! The house was spotless and free of clutter, yet tastefully decorated. The kitchen was well equipped with pots, pans, and cooking and serving utensils. Plenty of paper products, laundry supplies, etc. Would definitely stay again!

This house was SO cute! Everything about our stay was amazing! The beds were comfy, the house has great amenities (it was so amazing sitting in the hot tub in the cold weather looking out at the stars at night), and the views were gorgeous. The house was clean and decorated perfectly and had everything we needed to be comfortable. It was the perfect home away from home! At first we didn't really have much idea of what we were going to do in the area but had a ton of fun at a vineyard in the area and the state park as well. I would 100% come back and stay here in the future!

I cannot say enough about this property. The home was absolute perfection! Everything seems new and was super clean. And the bedding is ultra comfortable. We enjoyed the time without the TV—Sitting in the hot tub, relaxing in the sauna, and putting puzzles together on the large coffee table. The home is so cozy and nicely decorated. The super large couch is amazing!You’re within decent driving distance to the trails and loved the views on the way. The kitchen (entire home) was fully stocked and has everything we needed. Meals were a breeze, and the laundry room an added bonus. Absolutely will be back to this home.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay here and the owner Karen was so responsive and helpful with any questions we had. The sauna and jacuzzi was really easy to use. The space was quiet and the perfect distance to both the front Royal and Thornton gap entrance to Shenandoah national park. Very pet friendly and our favorite part were all the personal touches the owners put into the house. The furniture had beautiful personal touches to it and the art wall was really nice. You can tell they put a lot of thought into designing the home so others can enjoy. The Deck got plenty of sun and projector was also very easy to use. We had a wonderful stay.

You get what you see! That is: a beautifully furnished house in the woods with a kitchen equipped with absolutely everything you would need to create a haute cuisine dinner, a jacuzzi with the best view!The road to this paradise guides you over a Switzerland-like road in-between farms and lush vegetation, but only a 20 minute ride brings you to Shenandoah NP… just as advertised!The contact with the owner is very friendly and in no time.We‘d love to come back and enjoy this place again for a longer vacation!
