River View: Characterful Riverside Retreat

River View is a luxurious, character-filled townhouse set on the historic walls of Berwick-upon-Tweed. With three bedrooms, two bathrooms and stunning views over the River Tweed, it’s the perfect family base for exploring the Northumberland coastline. Beautifully furnished, it features a traditional range cooker, Smart TVs, free Wi-Fi, and a parking permit for one vehicle.

Lower Ground Floor:
Entry into River View is from the back of the property, through a gorgeous courtyard which is shared with one other property. As you enter River View, you are greeted by a grand staircase into the lower ground floor entrance hallway. This is a great place to leave any shoes, bags and coats before heading upstairs to the main living areas.
Ground Floor:
As you reach the ground floor, you’ll find a grand hallway with a front door entrance that opens onto the historic walls and out onto views of the River Tweed.
Kitchen & Dining
On one side of the home is the kitchen and dining room, which have gorgeous River views.. Flooded with light, the kitchen features a range stove cooker with an exposed brick wall and an old-school bench to prepare the perfect family meal. The Kitchen is fully equipped and includes a Nespresso coffee machine, washing machine, dishwasher, hob, airfryer and microwave. Many a Christmas dinner and Sunday roast have been cooked in this kitchen so you can ensure it’s equipped for all occasions.
As you meander through the two archways on either side of the kitchen Aga, you’ll find a large family dining room which comfortably seats six guests. This is the perfect space for entertaining, having a family meal or relaxing after an adventurous day exploring the Northumberland coast.


Drawing Room
Across the hallway is the drawing room, which is usually the kids room. It features a comfy sofa and armchair with a fireplace and surround, a smart TV with Netflix, and a selection of DVDs to watch. This is a perfect spot for children to sit and relax while adults enjoy a drink in the formal upstairs Lounge. Please note this is not a working fireplace and is just for decoration.

Please note that Netflix is an app on the smart TV and doesn't have a specific house account. Guests are welcome to use their own Netflix account and any other streaming services available with their login, but please make sure that you log out at the end of your stay.

First Floor:
Lounge
Rising to the first floor, you’ll find a cosy lounge, a second double bedroom and a bathroom. The Lounge is beautifully and brightly decorated with two, three seater sofas, a feature fireplace with surround and a smart TV with Netflix. The Lounge is a perfect place to relax and unwind whilst looking over the river. There are many antique items in these rooms that we always receive great feedback on from guests. Please note this is not a working fireplace and is just for decoration.
Second Bedroom
The second double room has a comfortable king-sized bed with luxurious throws and cushions. Framed by large arched windows with views to the River Tweed, this is a beautiful way to wake up in the morning and enjoy a first cup of coffee.
Bathroom
Also on the first floor is one of two bathrooms; this bathroom features a roll-top bathtub, toilet, and wash hand basin. This room is a real favourite for the kids, with traditional chequered tiled flooring and a pink bathtub this home will feel far from your own and is truly a magical place for children to explore.
Second Floor:
Up to the second floor, you’ll find the master bedroom, twin room and the second of the two bathrooms.
Master Bedroom
The master bedroom in this property is completely unique. With incredible wallpaper, panelling and a four-poster bed, we can guarantee this is unlike your bedroom at home! This is such a peaceful spot to unwind, the mattress is extremely comfortable as well as luxury linens and throws. The main focal point of the room is the giant window that overlooks the River Tweed. With two perfectly situated rocking chairs this is comfortably the best spot in the house to watch the sunset.
Third Bedroom
Next door to the master bedroom is the twin bedroom. This is ideal for children to be next door to their parents. Whilst this room is very inviting for adults it’s also very enchanting for kids. The owner has gone for a very subtle but fun decor with lots of flamingos featuring. With two comfortable full sized single beds, anyone will have a guaranteed peaceful sleep here. This room also overlooks the River although children often overlook the views and are more taken by the flamingos!
Bathroom
The second bathroom is very modern and calming. Large stone tiles line the walls of the large walk-in shower. This is a great opportunity to enjoy the overhead rain feature shower head.
Outside:
The courtyard outside is shared with our sister apartment Cinnabar, and access is shared through the big green gates, so please ensure these are not locked from the inside. You’re welcome to use the BBQ in the courtyard and enjoy Summer evenings outside. We do ask that you share the space considerately with the one bedroom apartment attached.

Parking:
A visitor parking permit is provided for one vehicle during your stay. It gives you free parking on the street outside of the green gate. We only ask that the parking permit be returned at the end of your stay for the next guests. If you have additional cars there’s a 24 hour free carpark a minute's walk away.

Pet Rules:
Unfortunately, River View is not pet friendly, this is due to the owners' allergies and is non-negotiable.
