Creekside skidstuga nära Big Powderhorn Mountain

Waldhein ligger precis norr om USA Hwy 2 mellan Ironwood och Bessemer i Big Snow Country of Michigan's Western Upper Peninsula, och är det gröna och gula Chalet vid Creekside Trail på Powderhorn Road på väg till huvudstugan Big Powderhorn Mountain. Vår vindlande uppfart kommer åt båda vägarna så att parkering är gott om flera fordon.

Vi är några minuter från Blackjack och nära Indianhead Mountains för att gå ombord och åka skidåkning.

För dina Big Powderhorn Mountain-upplevelser kan du gå till hissen # 1 (cirka 1200 fot) och åka skidor eller gå ombord, köra eller så kan du ta skytteln under snösäsongen till Gun Barrel Lodge eller någon av de andra barerna / restaurangerna i Bergsområde.

Du har åka in / rida ut åtkomst (lämna dina trailers i vår uppfart) till SNOWMOBILE & ATV TRAIL # 2.

Längdskidåkare kan pola över vägen för lokala nordiska och ligger i närheten av 26 km Wolverine Nordic Cross Country Ski & Mountain Bike Trails.

Waldhein är en chalet med två plan med främre däck på huvud- och övre plan och ett sidodäck med kolgrill på huvudnivån.

Den har tre sovrum (1 drottning, 2 sängar i full storlek) och ett sovrum med balkong (med 2 enkelsängar), två badrum (ett på varje nivå) och ett fullt utrustat kök. Sängkläder och de flesta badbehov finns. Du kan njuta av gratis WiFi i den mysiga atmosfären som vedeldad eldstad hjälper till med.

Cozy homebase for a long weekend of skiing in the area. Beds are comfortable, there were plenty of extra blankets to cuddle up in the evenings, kitchen was well stocked and the woodburning fireplace was a plus. The cabin had great character and a perfect location.Tips for future renters: when arriving look for a sign that says Creekside to find the cabin. There was a lot of snow so it was a little hard to see the turn off when we arrived in the evening. Also, the leather chair is a recliner! ;-)

We loved our stay! The place was cozy and clean. It’s right next to Powderhorn for skiing and then close to a couple others as well. We loved using this as our home base for a great ski weekend.

Great ski cabin

We were up for a long ski weekend, cozy cabin with a great fireplace. Very close to both Jackson Creek, blackjack and powderhorn. Skied them all, as well as visited the ski flying jump.

Great Spot

The chalet was exactly as described. We found our accommodations perfect for us. We thought we could walk to Lift 1 at Powderhorn, but the road was pretty fast and we didn’t feel comfortable so we did end up driving each day for snowboarding. It was, however, very easy to drive and we still wenback to chalet each lunchtime to eat. We played a lot of games, enjoyed the fireplace, and watched a couple of movies as a family. The kitchen was well stocked and it was easy and nice to make our own meals there. We were in want and/or need of nothing. Thanks! We would absolutely stay here again!

Winter Wonderland

This was an amazing winter wonderland getaway! Such a cozy cabin that fit our family, dogs, and friends perfectly. So close to Big Powderhorn and the owners provided so many essentials, such great hospitality. Beautiful scenery, we can't wait to come back.

Perfect little chalet close to Big Powderhorn with all the amenities! Plenty of room for everyone. Cozy and decorated in vintage ski - chic. Loved cozying up by the fireplace with the whole family after a day on the slopes.

Great stay, but those with allergies be cautious

This is a well maintained, cozy spot. Perfect for our long weekend. The manager was very friendly and left out some nice treats. Only downside was as a person with allergies and it being a pet friendly place I did have some allergy symptoms flare up. It was manageable for me, but could be a problem for others with more serious pet allergies.

Great Location for Exploring with ORV

This was our first time visiting Michigan and riding on the ORV trails. The hosts were very informative and quick to respond with information about the Chalet as well as places nearby that would help us truly experience this area. We were able to check many of the suggestions off our list of things to do but there were a few that we simply ran out of time to explore during the week. The Chalet is in a great location for getting on the ORV trails without the need to trailer them and the pass-through driveway is very handy for parking the trailer. Plenty of towels were provided and the kitchen was stocked with necessities and a bowl filled with a variety of snacks that came in handy throughout the week. Bathrooms with showers on each level were a wonderful aspect that not many places to stay seem to have. Checking in and out was very simple and much appreciated.

Perfect winter getaway in the UP

Thanks for an amazing place to stay. The house is so cozy, comfortable, and the perfect place for our winter weekend. We skied at big Powederhorn and Snow River, so the location was perfect. We also snow shoed the Wolverine Nordic trails, which were just down the road. Thanks for being an excellent host and being dog friendly! We can't wait to come back!!!

Cozy Chalet - Great Location

We had a wonderful time at the Waldhein. Warm, cozy and had everything we needed for our stay. Great location and parking for our family of skiers & snowmobilers. Lots of hooks to hang our gear after a day on the slopes/trails. We had plenty of firewood and loved the fireplace. The beds were comfortable with plenty of clean bedding. We always had hot water with great water pressure and lots of towels. Great communication, exactly as pictured, many nice touches that made our stay very comfortable. So nice that we could bring our dog, he loved it!
