1. Urban Cowboy Lodge

“For a lodge charging $500 per night for a standard king room, we expected a peaceful, relaxing experience in the Catskills. Unfortunately, our stay was the opposite. The biggest issue was the complete lack of soundproofing. Our bed was positioned directly against the wall behind the main entrance door, so every time someone entered the lodge, it sounded as if they were coming into our room. We could hear conversations, every door slamming, and virtually all the noise from the common areas. On...

“Wonderful stay in a lovely little retro cabin that’s updated just enough to be comfortable while imagining you’ve gone back in time. Our host was proactive and very helpful. She made the stay that much better. We visited in late summer. The stargazing was spectacular! And we sat outside around the fire listening to apples fall from the trees watching the wildlife (safely, from a distance!). The surrounding area had lots to explore.”

“Hosts were very nice and communicative and they allowed an early check in because of a snow storm. However, the cabin was very dirty. The prior guest had been staying there for two months with a dog prior to our arrival and it was not adequately cleaned. There was dog hair covering the couch. The couch and pillows smelled like dog. There were food scraps, hair and other garbage under the couch cushions when we went to use the pullout bed. The guest left personal belongings. The dishes and...

“What an amazing little inn. It's in a gorgeous location. They had campfires lit every night with a s'mores station. The breakfast was delicious and made to order. Plenty of lawn games. All of this included. The inn is a very short drive from some awesome hiking trails. All of the staff we met were incredibly friendly and since it's such a small inn they got to know us very well during our short two-night stay. The room was well thought out, very clean, and the bed was a dream. This was the best...
