“Very much in the Scottish theme! Sandy, our host had a great sense of humour & with good stories to share. He also had advice about where to eat & visit in Pictou. At breakfast he dressed up in his kilt to serve a delicious light breakfast prepared by both him & Cathy. We enjoyed our time there!”

“Attractive Victorian House that’s well maintained. Rooms are on the second floor. The lights from a building across the road were on all night—the shades helped, but still a distraction. Updated bathroom. No hair dryer. No TV. Wifi was slow. The owners were very nice. Breakfast was very good. Easy walk to the 3 restaurants in town. Sadly, Pictou is kind of a depressing town, though everyone was very nice. Not much there to see or do. We did a hike outside of town.”

“The best thing about Smith Rock Chalets is the view. To begin, the road in is over a mile (2.2km) of rough gravel. The shower has slightly warm water, at best. The wood kitchen chairs are uncomfortable, and the couch (hide-a-bed) in the loft (TV room) is equally uncomfortable. The bed was fairly soft but not too bad to sleep on. The weather wasn’t great while I was there so we didn’t use the pool or hot tub so can’t comment. I could not recommend the place.”
