Casa Kolibri: Spectacular Villa on a Private Lake

Do you know what Hygge is? Even if you don’t, you’ve surely experienced it. Hygge is a Danish word used to describe that feeling of “having a warm soul.” It’s what you feel when you sit in front of the fireplace on a rainy night with a nice cup of hot chocolate. Hygge is an attitude toward life that has made Denmark the happiest country in the world.

Wake up in one of our five stunning double rooms to the sound of birdsong, and enjoy breakfast featuring Pacho’s famous oranges—freshly picked from the tree—along with fresh artisanal bread and eggs gathered from the chicken coop. Spend the morning playing tennis or working out with the sports equipment available to guests. Have lunch by the pool with fish raised in our pond, served with vegetables grown in our garden. Enjoy a cocktail or a beer on the dock as the sunset gives way to a starry night, and end the day sitting by the fireplace reading a good book or playing a board game with the family. Or simply relax in the hammock and enjoy the perfect weather.

Upon arrival, you’ll enter the private parking area and walk down a staircase or along paths where you’ll see the chicken coop, the tennis court, the fish pond, and the vegetable garden.

In the living area, you’ll find an incredibly comfortable sofa, a fireplace, the indoor dining room with a large table, the fully equipped kitchen, and a panoramic door that opens onto the pool, where you can enjoy the view of the lake.

The bedrooms are separate from the living area, and each one features a double bed and its own special charm. The Libélula bedroom is peaceful and also has a single bed perfect for reading. The Mariposa room has a desk and a large skylight through which the sun’s rays stream in. The Río room has a covered terrace with a hammock, and from there you can hear the murmur of the stream. The Montaña suite features a private bathroom and a beautiful terrace. And the Lago Room has a terrace overlooking the lake and a private office area.

Kolibri lives up to its name because you’ll be able to watch many hummingbirds flitting around our lush gardens.

We have a spectacular pool that uses no chlorine or any other chemicals. In this area, you’ll find sun loungers, the lounge, and the outdoor dining area. From there, you can access the dock and the private lake, where you can enjoy kayaking or fishing. The lake’s shoreline features a 1.2-kilometer perimeter trail perfect for hiking.

Our housekeeper will be with you throughout the day and will help with cooking and housekeeping. If you’d like, you can join her to feed the fish or gather eggs, fruits, and vegetables during harvest season.

We have Wi-Fi and basic sports equipment, including a kayak and tennis rackets and balls. Pets are welcome in the house but not on the furniture; we prefer that you leave your shoes outside. smoking is not allowed inside the house. We have a washer-dryer and a huge fireplace that we’ll have ready for you to light in the evening.

Our housekeeper will be available during the day to address any concerns. Additionally, our property manager lives near the property and can assist you if needed.

The house is completely private, but since we have neighbors, we do not allow parties or excessive noise.
You can visit a spectacular nature trail managed by one of our neighbors (additional service not included in the price and subject to availability).

Regarding pets: we only allow dogs on the property.
