“Very cheap! Friendy staff. Nice balcony as the "common area". Close to city centre and "Sunday Markets". Smelly hostel, but so was the city a bit here and there. Only two toilets with small showers for everyone to share. Towels were washed, but has lots of hair residuals from other guests.”

“Ranau Backpackers Hostel is in the center of town, and since Ranau is such a small town, food & stores are all within walking distance. It’s also right across from the central market. I stayed in a twin room with private bathroom good for a solo traveler like me. The A/C in the room worked well, as well as WiFi, and overall the room was good, except the bed / mattress was too hard & hence not comfortable; the same goes for the pillow. “Helt ok ställe att bo på några nätter men inte mer än så. Slitet rum. Duschar och toaletter var rena. Personalen var inte speciellt serviceinriktad, hälsade inte ens när man gick förbi. Vitt bröd med sylt till frukost.”

“Location was great!! Great bed and good shower. There is a restaurant located right below the Hostel which serves really delicious local delicacies with very affordable prices, the Curry Chicken Rice and Coconut Pudding is a must try!!! Value for money!! Will definitely come back again! <3”
