No wifi, no assistance

Twice, I received incorrect instructions for the initial access to the property. With assistance from a civic minded police officer, I was able to access the property. Once I entered the property I discovered there was on wifi access and there was a faulty shower wand. Despite repeated calls, online chats and emails to Smart flats, during my stay there was no wifi access. During several phone conversations, I was assured the problems were "being looked into". For the duration of my stay, there was no wifi access and the shower wand was not repaired. On the final day of my stay, I received incorrect instructions for departing the property. The lack of administrative oversight and failure to address the needs of guests was truly a disappointment.

The service was terrible in every way. First, we wanted to leave our luggage at the property, but we couldn't; we had to go to another location about 10 minutes away to drop it off. We tried to check in early so we wouldn't have to go to the location 10 minutes away, but they wouldn't let us do it just two hours beforehand since the apartment was empty. Then we found out that in order to get the key to the main door in case we wanted to arrive after 10 PM, we had to go to a third location about a 10-minute walk away to get it. In short, it was quite an ordeal to get into the building due to poor communication from Smartflats. To top off the bad experience, the shower in the bathtub didn't work, so we had to shower with glasses of water. I wouldn't recommend anyone stay there.

It was nice being right next to the Grand Place, but there were quite a few things that were not set up well. I was given the wrong code twice to get the key from a different address, the door downstairs got a new lock and code two days into our stay, and I was not informed beforehand, there is no air conditioning or fan (and it gets humid in Brussels), the room was doable, but there are a lot of things that could be changed (torn material on chair, blood stain on duvet cover, tape keeping window closed, etc.).

Très très bien placé, belle vue, bonne communication avec l’hôte par contre en terme de propreté c’était aberrant, le sol collé, des taches de sang sur les draps, une bouteille d’eau dans le clic clac, traces sur les meubles de la cuisine, toiles de poussières derrière les rideaux…

Very Dangerous security risk

Terrified. Firstly credit cards were stolen because small window in bathroom was left open before we arrived. Next night at 1 pm someone had a code to the front door and was knocking increasingly louder on our apartment door then tried to smash the door open. With yelling loudly they ran down the stairs. Wonderful location and beautifully kept apartment but security is seriously lacking. Too dangerous to return. Shame

My Stay was excellent in general. Due to the Location of the property. However there was a few problems with our room. My girlfriend did not feel safe due to an inability to lock the door from the inside the apartment. We found the apartment a struggle to find for a while due to a lack of clear advertisement. The cleanliness wasn’t the best as there was handprints on the kitchen table and a few hairs in the bed it was just given a quick clean. Having said all that if the minor things were ironed out the apartment would be lovely as it was very spacious and great designed apartment

Cut my stay in brussels short and left the next morning due to conditions of the hotel. Pullout bed/ couch was covered in white stains, can only assume that they were bodily fluids... Tv didn't work, bathroom sink didn't work, wifi didn't work, apartment was dirty to the point that my family and i literally slept in our clothes as we were afraid to lay directly on the beds/ couch. Would not recommend. Completely ruined our trip to brussels.

Smartflats changed my booking on the day of arrival at 16:30 when I was due to get to the property at 18:30. They moved me to a different flat which was very difficult to find The flat was dirty, had cracked window, and was nothing like the flat I had seen on Expedia. Avoid avoid…nothing like advertised! I could not stay in the apartment and had to book a hotel for my stay in Brussels.

We had to cancelled our reservation from Dec 26 to 30, 2024. It was impossible to stay, at last moment the Smartflats has changed us, moving to the 7th floor, elevator broken long time ago, I am 59 years old it is impossible to go up to 7th floor with the baggage, also dirty and unsecure access to the bldg. We decided to move to other hotels paid for us. Still waiting for the full refund, where they had guarantee us, and only had done a partial refund. We are very angry, we got scammed. This property Smartflats in Expedia is a fake advertisement. Please, we ask Expedia to remove this property from the platform. I will continue to ask for my full refund, needs to Expedia to contact to this property for this. Liza / Rep. of Panama
