Great multi-generational stay
Pictures don’t do it justice! Our ground-floor unit had two large bedrooms, each with a king-size bed, closet, and attached bathroom* with walk-in shower. *For one of the bedrooms, the bathroom area (2 sinks, toilet, and shower) is separated from the rest of the bedroom by a pony wall, instead of a full wall and door. That was fine, because we really didn’t spend much time in the bedroom. Alex had plenty of kitchen tools to make whatever meal you’d like to make. She even provided some drinking water and a bag of ground coffee for our morning coffee. When we were choosing properties, we had questions about how easy it would be for my mother, who has limited mobility, to use the stairs and get around. Alex was extremely responsive and empathetic. It turns out that the stairs were easy enough for my mom to navigate. On our first night, Alex even gave my mom and our luggage a ride down the slope to the unit in her side-by-side aka quad aka 4-wheeler. Oh and we were able to use her washing machine and dryer! (Our stay came at the tail-end of a week in Cabo.) This is really on the beach, just a few steps from the water. Unfortunately, it was really windy and a bit chilly, so we didn’t get to experience going into the water, but we were able to enjoy walks on the beach and stargazing at night. We had the opportunity to chat with Alex and she’s a great story teller. Just an all-around lovely visit. Amazing hospitality!

Absolutely delightful
Our host Alex was terrific. Lots of great info and fulfilled our few requests in a jiffy. The location and accommodation was excellent. Super clean, well stocked. The unit is just so nicely decorated; great comfy beds and furniture. All new and barely used. As for the locale-can’t be beat. Gorgeous beach just feet away. Swimmable water a real plus. Absolutely nothing negative to add.

Perfect Vacation
Everything about our stay was perfect. The accommodations exceeded our expectations, as it was far better than the description and photos. The home was extremely clean and equipped with everything we needed. There was tons of natural light in all rooms and plenty of shade on the patio. The beach had clean sand and almost no rocks, and the water was the cleanest I've seen in Mexico. And Alex was so welcoming. We will definitely return!

This villa was perfect. We stayed 7 nights near the end of Feb 2023. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was extremely well appointed. The beach was fantastic and very private. We enjoyed the kayaks and the paddleboard that were available. I found a lot of seaglass on the beach directly in front of the house. We did tons of exploring, going to the waterfalls and to Punta Pescadero. Snorkeling was good just to the North of the Villa where the rocks are. We rented quads for three days and they were so much fun.

Stunning location
Right on the Sea of Cortez, we could hear the sound of the ocean. The house was well equipped with everything you would likely need. Host appeared to have thought of everything. Place was clean and well organised. Numerous places to relax. About 20 minutes from Los Barilles for groceries and restaurants. About a mile walk along the beach to Buena Vista and the hotel/restaurant. Liked that the host provided lots of bottled water. Really can't complain of anthing. My husband worked the first few days and the internet was adequate.

Almost want to keep this hidden
We are avid hikers and campers in Washington State - one of the “rules” of hiking is keeping the gems quiet so the crowds stay away. I feel this way about Alex’s place - for anyone looking for a Mexican get away that is away from the crowds but close enough to somewhere with great food and activity options, this is your spot. We stayed from Christmas through New Year’s Eve - the beach is fantastic, though better when the wind is low. A bunch of options nearby for snorkeling, ATV adventures, or whatever else you’re looking for. The restaurants in Los Barriles were all great that we tried, though the tacos at “Rice and Beans” might take the prize. We will be back - the one change we might make is renting some ATV equipment for the time we’re there - it’s a lot easier getting around on the sandy roads or beaches than with a car. If you are driving, make sure you go slow, especially around dusk and through the night - cows constantly on the road!

Peaceful and beautiful
A lovely home and wonderful hosts. We were fortunate enough to stay at Alex’s home right on the beach to celebrate a friends 50th birthday. Everyday was perfect! Watching the whales and dolphins playing in the sea right from the patio having our morning coffee was how most days started. A great set up for two couples or family. This is a gem of a place and we hope to visit again soon. Thank you Alex for your care in making our stay so wonderful. And thank you for the welcome guacamole and salsa. It was outstanding.

Recent Casa Laguna Retreat
This is my second time staying at this property. Alex is an amazing hostess. She greets you with a huge smile and has a bottle of wine, chips and guacamole on the kitchen counter waiting for you. The house (especially the kitchen) has all that you need to live comfortably. The layout is great with two bedrooms that bookend the kitchen. Each room has a king size bed and private bathroom. A large glass sliding door in the kitchen opens to the your own private beach. The beach is very swimmable, calm, and crystal clear when there is no wind. This most recent visit, I used the kayak available to guests and saw devil rays jumping out of the water and a huge school of fish swim underneath me. If you want privacy and seclusion then I highly recommend Casa Laguna. There are few people on the beach and the stars at night are spectacular! The town of Los Barriles is a short 10 minutes away. It's a small sleepy town with a few artisan shops, grocery stores and restaurants. The best sushi I have ever tasted was at La Casita Restaurant and Bar. My favorite place to have a meal on the beach is La Playa Restaurant and Bar (Next door to Lazy Daze ) and watch the Parachute surfers and devils rays doing somersaults. ATV's are readily available and can be used on the beach or the canyons near by. I made a day trips to Todos Santos - great places to shop. On the way to Todos Santos, be sure to stop in for coffee and a pastry at Caffe El Triunfo.

Amazing house, Amazing location, Wonderful host!
Alexandra met us with bowls full of delicious guacamole and salsa and a bottle of wine. Her place was immaculate and better than the pictures and descriptions. It was right on the water and perfect for launching our kayaks every morning for exploring the area from our kayaks. Washing machine and dryer were an extra benefit. Comfortable king beds, spacious rooms, lots of hot water. We were delighted with our stay at Casa laguna Seca, Buena Vista. Thank u Alexandra, we’ll be back!

Spectacular!
This is everything you want on vacation and Dede is a wonderful host! The location is private and exclusive, but close enough to town. Dede has equipped the home with everything you could possibly need, and the bedding and towels feel so luxurious! I highly recommend this home away from home.

South of Los Barriles
We rented 3 houses during our 3 week driving trip of Baja Mexico. Alex’ was the best. We were disappointed that Alexandra was gone due to a family emergency, but she was so attentive by phone and email. My wife is a good cook and we brought “triage” utensils, but didn’t need them at Burma Vista. It was cloudy and cool during our stay thus no water sports, just relaxed, investigated Los Barriles, and nooks and crannies nearby. A great spot to work from. We were in the lower “apartments”, four adults, no kids. We wanted for nothing, very, very well stocked, and Brad met us with a bottle of wine and bowl of dip, so nice! If there was any negative, the beautiful beach location is a double edged sword. The Mexican beaches are public and upon arrival two SUVs were camping very nearby. The campers were scantily dressed young females (spring break?),. The views were nice, music not so good . But they were quiet when it got late. And ATV beach driving has replaced beach walking, and people drive well into the night.

My two teenage boys, husband, and baby spent a two wonderful weeks here. Beautiful view, close to town yet far enough away to have the privacy you want. Owners were out of site abs kept to themselves and property responded to emails of questions I had through out the stay.

Beautiful Seaside Condo
I was initially attracted to this condo by the incredible reviews. I was looking for a place that would be relatively close to Los Barriles for the fishing, but also located on the beach and comfortable so my wife could relax on days when my friend Andy & I were out fishing. We stayed here for six nights in April. This was a gorgeous spot, about 10 minutes south of Los Barriles on a long secluded beach, pristine clean sand, with beautiful views of the Sea of Cortez and easy access to spots up and down the coast and fishing. You can sometimes see whales off the coast. The owners, Alex and Brad, couldn't have been nicer. They were very helpful, assisting us with unloading luggage and making arrangements for a fishing guide to pick us up on the beach right in front of the villa for full day excursions. Alex and Brad live upstairs, but you would never know it -- as other reviews have noted, they left us in complete privacy and were never intrusive...but were still available if we needed anything. Alex had made a great welcome snack of wine, chips, and homemade salsa and guacamole which she had waiting for us when we arrived. We were thrilled with the layout -- the kitchen was well-stocked, had every modern convenience, and there were lots of towels and linens, including several beach towels. The casa was spotlessly clean, beds were comfortable, and the AC and fans allowed us to control temperature and humidity to our liking. There were lounge and beach chairs, kayaks, floats, and paddle boards. There was a small library, TV with full cable/satellite setup, wifi, and board games in addition to the beach and fishing. It was perfect, very cozy, and relaxing. We're missing it already, and hoping to go back for a longer stay next year. It's about a 45-minute drive north of Los Cabos Airport. I cannot recommend it highly enough -- it is just a wonderful, memorable spot!

Heaven is at Buena Vista and Casa Laguna
This is not the first time we have stayed at Alex's and most certainly won't be our last. Not only is her place the absolute best in the area (and we have stayed in many), her place is sparkling clean, lots of little touches to make our stay incredibly comfortable . The towels are thick, the sheets soft, the kitchen incredibly well equipped, and the location just does not get any better...away from the noise and crowds of Los Barilles, but a quick 10-12 minute drive to town. And its on the most beautiful beach for swimming in the area. The best part is that Alex and Brad are right there if you need them, but give you your absolute privacy. There are also 2 other "casas" in the same house, another 2 bedroom at the back with an incredible rooftop tanning/whale watching roof space, and a quaint little one bedroom my husband and I have enjoyed many times for the ultimate quiet and privacy. It has a view down an empty beach and of the desert..great bird watching:) I was reluctant to write this review because we've always felt it's a well kept secret, but Alex and Brad work hard and deserve to have their place full. You'll just keep coming back!

Paradise just got better
Casa Laguna is perfect in every sense. You are on a secluded stretch of beach that’s an easy 45 minute drive from the SJD airport. The house itself is appointed to perfection, from soft sheets and fluffy towels to cold bottled water in the fridge and 50SPF sunscreen in the pantry. The fully equipped gourmet kitchen is every cooks dream. Alex is the most gracious host I have ever encountered, she made sure we knew exactly how to get to Casa Laguna and was available to answer every question. There was a lovely welcome amenity of chips and salsa to set the tone for a perfect stay. The beach is quiet and safe to swim. There are kayaks and floating mattresses available to enjoy quiet days on the beach. Boardgames and books offer hours of leisure during unplugged afternoons and US Dish TV and convenient WIFI are available to get your outside world fix in this perfect beach getaway. Without a doubt Casa Laguna is my favorite place for a fun and rewarding beach getaway.

We’ve been to the East Cape region several times, and have stayed in rental houses wach time, but this was by far our favorite. Alex was an incredibly gracious and welcoming host. The house was beautiful and well-stocked. The beach is the best in the area. We will be returning for sure.

The best slice of southern Baja is at Casa Laguna!
We have spent several years visiting southern Baja and have always chosen Casa Laguna as our home away from home. The location is on a quiet, secluded beach where you can enjoy walks, fly fishing, lounging, and the amazing sunrises and sunsets! It is a perfect location for families, couples, and single travellers. The unit is stocked with everything you need to enjoy your stay and feel at home, including a large kitchen, an open indoor and outdoor living area, 2 comfortable bedrooms, and 2 full bathrooms. Alex is always very welcoming and generous to ensure her guests enjoy their stay and experience. Los Barriles is the nearest town that is about a 10 minute drive where you will find all the amenities you need as well as a variety of restaurants and shops. Do yourself a favour and stay here so you don't miss out on an amazing experience in southern Baja!

Incredible treasure

Casa Laguna is majestic. While we had wind 4 of 6 days, we found lots to do off the beach to keep us entertained and active...hot springs, waterfalls, canyons, wonderful craft market, etc...Los Barrilles is 10 min away and has plenty of activity for the restless. For those that prefer staying closer to home, Casa Laguna is the perfect place to be. The photos don't quite do justice to the luxury and beauty of the place. The open living room/kitchen has unobstructed panoramic views of the sea so one can happily lounge on one of two cushy couches and dream. The kitchen is the best equipped I have ever encountered in a VRBO and even had a juicer! The two bedrooms are both great with super nice linens and private bathrooms. Alex brought not only wine and guac but fresh fruit and tomatoes from her friends orchard and we had fresh squeezed pineapple, orange and grapefruit juice in the morning. There is a kayak out front that I used for a nice morning on the sea when the wind was down. While Alex lives upstairs, I never once saw her unless I asked for her....she is serious about respecting your privacy...it felt like we were the only ones there. I cannot recommend this place enough....we will be back for sure!! Thanks Alex.....

This was a gorgeous beachfront property as advertised.
And what a welcome- fresh chips, salsa, guacamole, and wine. And Alex was so friendly and helpful when our trip was delayed one day. Unfortunately the four days we were there the wind blew so much, the only comfortable time on the beach or deck was in the morning. However, we had a wonderful view from inside and the accommodations were excellent. The kitchen had everything you needed for cooking, including spices, flour, sugar, etc. The bedrooms are both large and comfortable. There were also lots of extras- books, games, even beach bocce ball.

The property is a rare gem. Tastefully appointed, Well stocked kitchen. Generous private outdoor lot
We had a wonderful experience. We enjoyed long beach walks with no other houses in sight. Our 1 year old had a giant enclosed sand area and we could leave the door open knowing he was safe outside. The night sky, sunrises and sunsets were often spectacular. Alex made us delicious welcome food and wine and was super friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed being outside of town but close enough to drive in. If you want to immerse yourself in a desert meets the sea dusty backroads on the outskirts of town experience then this is your place. The photos don’t do it justice - go and see for yourself. Thanks Alex - we’ll be back!

Alexandra is nice. We got lost but she was able to find us and bring us to the house. She also brought us a pie that she baked. ! Please make sure you get there during the day time, otherwise it may be challenging to locate the house.

Very special secluded East Cape - fantastic hosts
If you are shopping for a place to get away on the East Cape, do yourself a favor, stop shopping and book this place! When you walk out to the beach, turn right and there are no neighbors to the horizon. Hosts are very thoughtful and accommodating. We arrived to chips and salsa, beer, wine, bottled water. We own 4 VRBO properties and manage 4 others. Alexandra sets the bar high. Really cannot be improved.
