âThere was nothing wrong with the service, the food was good. The hotel was very dated, not what I was expecting. We weren't there to golf, so we maybe chose the wrong hotel. The beds and pillows were uncomfortable.â

âA nice B&B with an old host, a unique kind of building from 1909 with lots of old furniture etc inside. The room was fairly small, they lowered the temperature during night, I had to get up early and it was a bit cold in the room in the morning. Few places to sit outside the room at 6 am. The surroundings are in the better end but still close to some fairly rough areasâ
âMy stay was extra special as it was the evening before and my wedding day evening. Me and my best friend stayed the Friday and had a lovely meal on the evening. We mentioned to our server that i was getting married in the morning and she brought out a desert with a candle saying congratulations. Was a complete surprise which made it that more special. The room was beautiful and the staff overall so lovely and welcoming. â
âLovely gem of an Inn. Great location and the hosts are super. Our dogs were looked after and they enjoyed the treats they sell and the dinner they had when we had our dinner. Highly recommend â

"booked a single room for two nights. I stayed in room number 100 and had a 90 bed set in a corner and a view from the window right into a wall. Nothing like the room I had booked on the website. There was a smell of mold in the room and urine in the toilet.
I went down to reception after the first night to ask to change rooms and told about the smell. received a reply from the reception who spoke to the hotel manager who told me that the smell is due to the fact that they have just repainted the room and changed the carpet and that they will not arrange a new room for me. Which was a lie because the room was neither repainted nor had a new carpet and I can tell the difference in urine, mold and paint. Poor service from reception and manager but the friendly woman working at breakfast was phenomenal. I will visit beautiful Shrewsbury again but never the Prince Rupert Hotel."
