“The place is beautiful and tucked into the woods. I recommend taking a screenshot of the instructions while you have cell service since it cuts in and out when you're that deep in the hills. You have wifi in the room which is great.

“We arrived at this immaculately clean house with no problems. The space is cozy with lots of light from the large windows which allow a nice view of the ascending hills across the short valley. The mountain views are reflected in the tasteful decor and the home is nicely appointed with everything that we needed. I look forward to staying here soon.”

“We got to the motel around 8 PM Saturday night 5/16. I told the front desk that we were there to check in and made our reservations via Expedia. She asked me to give her my driver's license and I did. She looked at my license and told us we could not stay there because we lived to close to the motel. We said you got to be kidding! She said no that they have problems with local people staying there and creating problems where they have to call the cops. We live in Banner Elk which is about 50...

“The Shady Lawn Inn is a wonderful place to stay. It's in the heart of Newland, NC, a small town with a cool vibe. Shady Lawn Inn was my home for 10 days because of car trouble. Staff Kara (front desk), Maria (housekeeping) and Ms. Suzzanah (owner) were so gracious and helpful and I felt safe. Room was clean, a bit dark, comfortable bed (king) and the ac cools when needed. “Ask for a room you want and which side. The room had a musty smell until we turned on the AC. Suggested they turn the AC on before guests arrive. Also the bathroom floor in the handicap room was like a skating rink.”
