Had six family members stay for a week at the Casa de Mario. It can be a struggle when looking for places to stay at a destination that one has never been. After looking at probably a hundred listings on Homeaway, I emailed Tim (the owner). He was very fast in his response and very informative. I wanted a house that was CLOSE to the beach, the marina, restaurants and shopping. I did not want to call a cab every time I wanted to venture out. Now, you can stay at the ME or one of the other hotels or timeshares and be close to the action, but you WILL NOT find another house like Casa de Mario. It will sleep a large group, it is extremely safe and private, and it has an awesome pool. Its a five minute walk to Medano Beach, 185 feet from Roasted and about 200 feet to Peacocks. Bar Esquina is about a 2-3 minute walk. Its an 11 minute walk to the Marina, the Mall and lots of bars and restaurants in that area. We actually arrived just a couple of days after Hurricane Newton. I was impressed that the neighborhood and Cabo in general looked great. The house had some minor issues like gas hot water heater had blown out, the satellite dish had got moved some and reception was spotty. Nothing big. The only reason I even mention it is because if you have a problem, Tim will take care of it....fast. Also wanted to mention that in September, the fishing is muy caliente, and so is the weather. But Casa de Mario has A/C units in all of the bedrooms and large A/C units in the living areas downstairs. The kitchen is also very nice. Fully equipped and modern. The water is filtered and there is a separate water cooler. Tim recommended the Mucho Loco boats for fishing and they did not disappoint. We fished twice with them and brought back some nice tuna, wahoo and dorado to prepare in our kitchen. There are hundreds of placed to eat and drink, but my crowd really enjoyed Bar Esquina and La Dolce. The Italian Job was closed but the food at La Dolce was fantastic. Monkey Business bar had the best margaritas. Also the Cabo Bakery had a really good breakfast. Not just baked goods, they had a full breakfast menu. Food was fast and fresh and steps from the house. There is also a warehouse club (think of costco) about a 5 min walk from the house, for about $1.50 you can get a day pass. They have loads of stuff. Hope to stay at the Casa de Mario again soon, just a fabulous location.
