Room as advertised as 'Executive'. To me an Executive would be above standard rooms. What we got was a standard room, we had an accessible room which had a larger bathroom but not much else. I would prefer a descriptive word other than executive for the room we had, it was definitely a standard room and not much else. There was also a drainage problem and the smell was putrid when we arrived and worse during the night. We had planned on staying another night on our return from the north but cancelled. Gave our feedback to reception on checkout but have received no further communication. Would not stay here again. One positive was the location.

早朝便で着いたが荷物を預かってくれました。また、預けた荷物に忘れ物をしてしまっていてホテルに戻ったら、快く荷物を開けさせてくれて助かりました。 スタッフの皆さんは全員優しく、タクシーを手配してくれたりもしました。 部屋はとても綺麗で遮光カーテンのおかげでよく眠れたし、水周りの設備も綺麗でした。強いて言うなら、ドライヤーがなかなか見つけられず困りました。(部屋の収納の中にあるとは…) 近くにご飯屋さんやナイトマーケットもあって利便性も高かったので、またケアンズに来る時は利用したいです。

Only two small, flat pillows. Extras were not available. Air conditioning ran hot then cold then hot again. No hotel parking. Nearby parking was expensive.

Oaks cairns was a great stay. The staff were friendly and the hotel was clean and updated. The only thing that would improve it would be laundry facilities in the hotel. There are almost no options for laundry near by so if it was in the hotel that would be helpful. Overall a great stay and would recommend

Mixed experience.
Great location. New room fit out however missing some basics. Upgraded to 4th floor& larger room, only trouble 5th floor has bar & restaurant so noise from moving chairs & tables from 6.00am, the lunchtime & 5.00 to 10.30 pm. Bit annoying. Would have better on lower floors.

Location
You can’t beat the oaks for location in Cairns. It’s right over the road from the Esplanade lagoon and in easy walking distance of the marina, shops, pubs, restaurants etc. The roof top restaurant has amazing views too. Room was modern, comfortable and clean.

We appreciated the convenient location and courteous staff (Rob and Emma were both excellent!). However there wasn't space for our open suitcases for two international travelers. We literally were forced to leave an open suitcase on the floor and scoot around it from one side of the room to the other. We didn't choose a view room but it was very expensive for our view of an ugly alleyway and cramped space.

We stayed beginning September 1st 2023 for 6 nights. I really enjoyed staying at the Oaks Cairns Hotel. The room was very nice with a great view. The bathroom was spacious, clean, stylish and highly functional. Even though we had a no housekeeping room, the housekeeping staff were very warm and kind. They always greeted us warmly, and were constantly working on keeping the public areas clean and fresh. There was even an engineer working on the entry doors one day, and always greeted us as we came and left. The front desk staff assisted us getting multiple cabs and were pleasant to work with. When we checked in, the lady that helped us was pleasant and informative. When we were checked in and waiting at the elevator to go to our room the other lady at the desk laughed at me behind my back (Don't think I did not notice). I don't think it is funny to be very polite and enthusiastic. It was poor form in my opinion. I did not let her actions cloud my impression of the hotel, not was I about to let their unprofessionalism ruin my good impression of Oaks Cairns Hotel.

The hotel was good and convenient to everything around. Pretty expensive however for a hotel that doesn’t have any amenities except a bar. Also when you book it said to pay extra for free breakfast but when we got there for the first day they said it’s only a $20 credit per person for one day so we had to pay extra. Advised the receptionist of this mis leading information but they didn’t offer to correct the payment and made us pay the extra. Overall I would say this hotel is good for a very short stay

I didn't like the small size of the room and it had no window or patio area. It was like the interior cabin of a cruise ship. Had to have lights on all day Very handy to everything tho. I wouldn't stay there again as they have no rooms with fresh air only air con.
