We arrived after 9 days of active city breaks in Córdoba, Jerez and Ronda and it was good to be in a place that allowed us to essentially do nothing. Elisa was on hand to welcome us and show us around, and responded quickly and clearly to the few emailed queries we had during the week.
The only thing that didn't meet our expectations when we arrived was that the listing says that the property is air conditioned, without making it clear that the air-conditioning is only in the bedrooms.
We walked into Cómpeta and Canillas de Albaida on several occasions and found some nice places to eat (Restaurante Cerezo, Taberna Casa Paco and Restaurante El Pámpano all fed us well) while the local supermarkets (especially Supermercado Coviran in Cómpeta) were good enough for the days when we ate in the villa, which had everything we needed for cooking.
There were only four of us, so we had plenty of space, but even with only four people we found that the layout of the lounge was not ideal, with just one sofa along one wall which made it difficult just to sit around and chat inside.
Outside, we used the pool and the table tennis table a lot. We had thought it was worth paying extra for the pool to be heated, but the people from the previous week clearly hadn't because it took about three days for the pool to heat up.
None of these minor points should take away from the fact that this was a lovely place to stay for a week and that we very much enjoyed our time there.
