“This is a superb cottage, finished to an excellent standard and very well equipped. There is no phone signal or WiFi which some people may not like but for us that just added to the feel of having a proper getaway in The Borders countryside. You can’t walk on the immediate estate but that really doesn’t matter as there are plenty of walks in the area. “Excellent place to stay. More than fully equipped. It was short of nothing, well heated, great shower, plenty of towels and toiletries, kitchen had everything required. “So lovely, really homely. All the essentials plus bits like sandwich boxes and a slow cooker in the kitchen. Tourist leaflets and info pack could do with udating. Would be helpful to have supermarket/ local market/pharmacy details. Limited rainy day things to do in the flat. No books, family games etc. However, Carlisle nearby. Loads of hidden tea rooms and cafes in the surrounding villages. Maryport is gorgeous.”

“We weren't familiar with the area but chose the property for size and facilities. The property was really warm, comfortable, cosy and well equipped. Plenty of kitchen equipment for us to cook for 19. The grounds were lovely. A good base for a day out in the lakes too. Highly recommended!”

“First impreasions are good, a nice welcome touch of bread, cheese, milk and some homemade chocolates. Which after an 8 hour on the road day from Skye was welcome. “First time away with our dog and could not have picked a better place. Anne(owner/host) very welcoming and cannot do enough for you. Plenty of logs for the fire, bottle of wine, fresh eggs, caramel shortcake what a welcome package, don’t think you would get this type of welcome from many places.
