Cape Cottage - Downtown, 11 sovplatser, Hundvänlig, kort promenad till stranden

När det gällde vår familj och Cape Charles var det kärlek vid första anblicken. Lugn och ro, skönheten i bukten, den varma stranden av stranden, det vänliga folket och eklektiska affärer och restauranger ... staden fångade omedelbart våra hjärtan. Vår familj (mamma, pappa, fem barn och en Bernese berghund med namnet Yankee) har byggt en miljon härskad minnen här, och vi hoppas att du också kommer!

Cape Cottage är en ren, bekväm, charmig viktoriansk ... en perfekt plats för din Cape Charles strand semester! Den lugna centrala platsen lämnar dig bara en kort promenad från shopping, restauranger och (viktigast av allt, vad vi berör) stranden.

Hemmet har tre sovrum och två fulla bad. I vardagsrummet finns en utdragbar säng om du vill klämma i några extra gäster. Vi älskar vår hund och vill inte semester utan henne. Vi antar att om du har en hund, vill du ta med honom eller henne också!

Huset har allt du behöver för att ha en fantastisk semester - köket är rymligt och fyllt med alla krukor, kokkärl, tallrikar och apparater som du har hemma (kaffekanna, Keurig, Nespresso - nämnde vi att vi är kaffe människor?). Huset har kabel-TV (det finns plattskärms-TV i vardagsrummet och i två av sovrummen), WiFi, centralvärme och AC och varmvatten på begäran (så hela ditt besättning kan städa upp utan att tömma tanken!) .

Utanför finns en uteplats veranda (hälften är avskärmad för bugfri avkoppling) med en veranda swing och solstolar. På baksidan finns det en rymlig bakgård med lampor, en bärbar eldstad, en kolgrill / rökare och en uteservering. Ställ in en rund majshål eller hästskor, kasta något gott på grillen, öppna en kall dryck efter eget val och se tiden flyga.

I skjulet hittar du allt du behöver för att ha en bra dag på vattenspåren, kajakerna med liten storlek, strandstolar, leksaker, spel, cyklar och familjens stolthet och glädje - en 5 person surrey.

Cape Charles är en dold pärla. Oavsett om du är i naturen, djurliv, vandring, shopping, äta, vattensport eller bara sitta på stranden läser en bra bok ... vi är säkra på att du ska ha en underbar semester!

We had a great stay. Easy check in process. Home was clean and well equipped. We loved using the stand up paddle board and kayaks. Cape Charles has a great beach with easy parking, warm water, and minimal waves. Our dog had a great time playing in the water in the mornings.

Disappointing

Great location. Plenty of parking. The big issue was cleanliness. Upon our 5:45pm arrival, the house was not cleaned by a service. The owner promptly sent cleaners over. Kitchen pots and pans, bowls, and silverware was dirty, and…there were roaches.

Family friendly stay in Cape Charles

The place was perfect for our family. Our family of five fit perfectly in the connected rooms and then the grandparents stayed in the room with the king bed. Everyone was comfortable and we loved the location. The outdoor shower was perfect for rinsing off the sand after the beach and the house was well stocked. Overall it was a great beach stay!

Cape Charles stay

The house location was excellent. The kitchen was a bit of a disappointment, it was small and the pots and pans were lacking in the sense there were no smaller pots and the layoff was not functional. The upstairs bath needs updated the tub needs reglazing and its dangerous to use. I have some mobility issues so its not user friendly to older people. Otherwise we enjoyed our time there

Quaint & Good Location

Overall we really enjoyed this property. We found it had everything we needed and the location was great. There was some cleanliness issues…. Food on plates and pans, coffee left in carafe, grounds left in machine, hair/dust balls on floors, stained towels. Not overly objectionable but greater care is needed on these items.

Great stay

House had so much to offer. We didn’t stay long enough to utilize all the fun things. Great location. Lots of space to hold large groups. Mike was super easy to work with. Answered questions in a timely fashion. We’ve stayed in several homes in Cape Charles and this was one of our favorites.

Comfortable pet friendly get away

Plenty of space and beds for our family of 5. Large sectional in living room is so comfortable, offering a nice gathering spot for the family. Home is well stocked with towels, cookware, and paper supplies. The coffee bar with choice of Nespresso, keurig, and standard coffee brewing is awesome. The kids love the surrey and bikes, and mom appreciates the outdoor shower to rinse off the beach! But above all, pet friendly is most appreciated. There’s no dog fur on the furniture or carpets, the home is kept very clean. The owner is friendly and so easy to communicate with. We love staying here every summer.

Lovely beach getaway!

We had the best long weekend here in Cape Charles. The property is lovely. For those traveling with young children, it's set up with all the bedrooms upstairs. The main bedroom and first bedroom are off the main hallway, and the second bedroom is through the first bedroom - however there is a second set of stairs from the second bedroom to the first floor, so no one is ever "trapped" by a bedroom. Sorry, that's a little hard to visualize but view photos for more perspective. We had 3 adults and 2 children (3 and 5) with us, and there was ample space. Major bonus: blackout curtains in the first bedroom so my kids didn't wake up with the sunrise! We mostly ate in, and the kitchen was nicely stocked with cookware. We found some beach chairs and an inflatable raft in the shed, along with a SUP (did not test this out but it was there). I highly recommend a golf cart! It's a nice 10-15 walk to the beach and same distance to the brewery, but it was really fun to drive around the town. Host was kind and responsive. Check-in and check out were a breeze. We really enjoyed this and hope to be back again next year.

Needs updating

The house needs updating. The kitchen floors need to be changed. The bathroom sink needs to be fixed, the stove needs to be cleaned. The beds were nicely done when we arrived but the mattresses need to be changed. Over-all, we enjoyed our stay, it was a nice neighborhood. Beach, church and shops were nearby.

Great house for a laid back stay

We had a wonderful vacation at this house! With 3 kids under 5 and a dog, not all homes can accommodate, but this house sure DID! The living space and dining areas were open and comfortable, and the bedrooms were cozy. The location is great-we walked to the park multiple times for the kids and the dog to enjoy! The only negative we had was the mountain of trash that was overflowing the trashcan when we arrived was very smelly and brought a lot of flies. Unfortunately trash pickup didn’t happen until we had already been there for a couple days. Overall we loved it. Lots of good memories were made during our stay!

Property was dated! Showers are functional but definitely not luxurious! But, the house has a lot of charm. Landscaping could DEFINITELY BE ADDRESSED! And the keyless entry was so temperamental a few times I thought we weren’t going to get in. A little TLC would have gone a long way. Also, no instructions in house for check out procedures or if there was I could not find it.
