Floden vid den vackra Columbia River

Bohemian River Cottage är en mysig och bekväm stuga som sitter vid den vackra floden Columbia. Beläget på Puget Island, bara 90 minuter utanför Portland / Vancouver-området, gör det perfekt för en weekend eller en speciell veckors semester. Oavsett om du letar efter äventyr utomhus eller kopplar av i hängmattan och lyssnar på fåglarna är floden det perfekta läget att komma bort från omvärlden. Ön Puget är ett jordbrukssamhälle mitt i floden, med utomhusäventyr från dina dörrsteg. Home kommer komplett med alla nödvändigheter för en underbar semester. Huset har en underbar sittgrupp utomhus för att koppla av, äta eller samla för spel. Var inte förvånad om de lokala rådjurarna passerar genom gården när du njuter av att titta på örnarna dyka i vattnet till lunch - det finns alltid djurliv att observera på ön.

Beläget på Columbia-floden mellan Oregon och Washington, bara en snabb färjetur från Oregon-sidan, och en bro från Washington, har Puget Island stränder, vattenvägar, en båtlansering och några härliga små lokala gårdar för att köpa lokalt tillverkade varor. Se till att besöka besöksbyrån för lokal information.

Cathlamet är en söt liten närliggande stad med en hemstadsmarknad för att köpa matvaror, men det föreslås att du tar med "svårare att hitta" föremål från din marknad eller ett snabbt stopp i Longview på väg.

Ön är en stor gång- och cykelväg med vattendrag genom den ivrig kajak- och SUP-entusiasten. Ta med dina vattenleksaker och njut !! (vattenfarkoster som visas på bilder levereras inte med uthyrning.)

Det finns wifi i hela huset, med en smart-tv som kommer åt Amazon Prime, Netflix, Showtime, HBO, Hulu och mer. (Ingen lokal kabelåtkomst)

Var noga med att vara uppmärksam på tidvattendiagram när du anländer och vara medveten om säkerhetsåtgärder. När tidvattnet är lågt är det den perfekta tiden att gå på stranden i väster - ungefär en mil mot färjan är en vacker promenad. Senare eller tidigare, när tidvattnet är högre, är rätt tid att gå ut på ditt vattenskot. Kajaken kan komma igenom de flesta tider, men det är bättre när vattnet är högre för paddellådsentusiasten. Ställ gärna några frågor om heller!

För dig som fiskar, finns det en båtlansering 2 miles från huset. Kul för alla!

Retreat on the river

Excellence in cleanliness, functionality, and maintained property both indoors and outdoors.

Numerous furnishings were provided and in tip top condition. We didn’t do a lot of cooking, yet all needed kitchen appliances and equipment is there and located for convenient use. We appreciate such a neat, clean place to stay.

Lovely, restful stay in the Lower Columbia

My husband and I spent three nights here and enjoyed the water view and access. The backyard offered several areas to relax and hang out plus the back porch for dinner was wonderful. We brought our sea kayaks and took the ferry to oregon one day, paddling further down river . We were also able to paddle out of Skamakawa. Lots to do - or time to do nothing- whatever you want. Loved coming back from paddling to relax on the river.

perfect escape from the city

The cottage is wonderful. So cute and cozy. We only left the amazing backyard oasis- with a beautiful river view to take the little ferry to the Astoria Sunday Farmers market. The birdwatching was so relaxing. Great for Kayaks. The place is quiet and clean with very tasteful and adorable decor. We will definitely return. If you have alfalfa or cottonwood allergies plan accordingly as the island had a lot of pollen during my weekend.

Home away from home

This home is perfect, the view is beautiful and watching the hummingbirds and the other beautiful birds is so relaxing. Sitting outside on the wonderful deck watching the ships drinking coffee was more than we could ask for. We didn’t get to have a fire down by the river because it was raining but we do plan on returning, the fire pit and chairs by the river would have been nice I’m sure. Our host was great answered any questions I had, Thankyou for sharing your beautiful cottage, and we do hope to stay again.

Puget Island

There were four of us who went to Puget Island to visit our daughter, who happened to lived on the same street as the bohemian home. This house was very clean well stocked with all the kitchen utensils you’d ever think of in fact, it’s better stocked than my own home, the house is on the river with a beautiful fenced in backyard and the front yard is beautiful as well. The check-in was easy the reservation was easy I would definitely recommend this to anybody who wanted to be near or on Puget Island, Cathlamet, or even Longview. This house has three bathrooms, two full bathrooms, and a toilet in a sink in the master bedroom makes it soo convenient with 4 adults. The house is so cutely decorated. In fact, my daughter said she wants that house. We enjoyed seeing deer in the yard on a daily basis cows across the street it’s very relaxing we would definitely stay again.

Our experience

This is a cute little place and the location on the river is good. I’d read other reviews that mentioned the matresses and ignored. However our experience of the beds (double and twin) were not good. We took turns sleeping on the day bed because those in bedrooms were very boggy. I appreciate our host alerting me in advance as soon as she knew there were active bees on-site - a tough reality this time of year. Unfortunately I was stung multiple times and did not want to spend any time in the yard or deck. As we’d planned to kayak from the beach this really hampered our enjoyment of the property. Lastly the shower walls in the upstairs bath clearly had not been cleaned after the last guests. Overall I think with better/new matresses I’d come back again - but not in the summer. Recommend that yellow jacket/wasp traps be hung out in June and maintained all summer.

beautiful setting, lovely home

This was a fantastic place to spend a few summer days- direct access to over a mile of sandy beach on the shores of the Columbia, near perfect silence except for the multitude of birds, deer wandering through the yard to clean up the fallen apples and plums, and a fully equipped house in exquisite shape. Jeanine was clear and quick in her communications, and left lots of helpful information on activities in the area. Lovely place that we would recommend to anyone for a peaceful getaway.

Family time

This place the was the perfect place to relax and recharge for my sister, parents and I. It was easy to find, very comfortable and clean and we absolutely loved the back porch. Bank fishing isn't ideal on the property, however there is a perfect spot about 15 min down the road. Will definitely be back.

Much needed time away

The property is amazing. So quiet and the house is just adorable. The only problem we incountered was that the beds were very uncomfortable. We ended up leaving a day early because of back and neck aches. We do want to stay again, but I think next time we will bring an air mattress 😃

Peaceful Tranquility

What a joy to stay at this property! The home is beautifully decorated, spotless and well supplied. We saw deer on a daily basis along with a family of hummingbirds living in the back yard. We loved seeing the ships go down the river and walking every morning along it’s shores while the tide was out! This property is a gem with a wonderful owner that goes above and beyond to make her guests feel at home! Thank you Jeanine for sharing your little slice of heaven with us!
