“My friends and I decided to have a mini staycation. I found this spot last minute and was so excited to enjoy the beautiful property. Check in was so easy and Renee was very kind and helpful. We had our dogs with us and they loved playing in the river. Just beware the current is strong. We had them on leashes at all times to make sure they didn’t float away. The bonfire area was perfect, right by the river where you can hear the water and see fireflies all around you! The beds were very clean...

“Well stocked kitchen including a variety of coffee pods and tea, all the pots and pans needed to cook dinner. Very clean. Beds comfortable. No privacy except bathroom as an FYI. Lovely pond and frogs galore. Only bummer was the Trump flag especially for our group (various marginalized people). Regardless of intention it does not create a welcoming feeling for all. ”

“This was our second time staying at Shadowland Lodge, and it’s officially our favorite getaway spot! The cabin is beautiful, peaceful, and has everything you need to relax — tubing on the river, hot tub, fire pit, scenic walks, and plenty of space for games and family time.We especially love that we can bring our dog, who had just as much fun exploring as we did. The host provides so many thoughtful touches that make the cabin feel like home. Can’t wait to come back!”

“An excellent vacation rental! Super clean, tastefully decorated, many thoughtful touches like fully equipped kitchen, paper products, etc. Even wine & chocolates! The sauna was a great touch, as well as the comfortable outdoor spaces. We love to explore Leelanau, but it as hard to leave the comfort of the home. Tom & Diane were quick to respond to our questions & were fantastic hosts! ”
