Cornelius, North Carolina, is a picturesque town situated along the shores of Lake Norman, about 20 miles north of Charlotte. Originally established in 1893, it has grown into a thriving community that blends small-town charm with modern conveniences. Uber is active at night with about a 10 min wait on weekends.

Bus Services
Route 97 – Village Rider-Cornelius: This local bus route serves the Cornelius area, connecting key locations such as the Cornelius Park & Ride, Catawba Avenue, and Main Street. It operates on weekdays with multiple stops throughout the town, providing residents with accessible public transportation within Cornelius. ​


Route 77X – North Mecklenburg Express: For commuters traveling to and from Charlotte, the 77X offers express service between North Mecklenburg County, including Cornelius, and Uptown Charlotte. This route provides a convenient option for those working in the city but residing in Cornelius or neighboring towns.​

Park and Ride Facilities
Cornelius Park & Ride: Located at 20300 Sefton Park Road, this facility serves as a hub for CATS bus services, including routes 97 and 77X. It offers commuters a place to park their vehicles and utilize public transit for the remainder of their journey, helping to reduce traffic congestion and provide cost-effective transportation options. ​



The Town of Cornelius where you can take a lovely walk to grab coffee, dinner, drinks or your groceries from our home. Or just stroll around Lake Norman - the trail is just around the corner.
