Situated within the quiet Scatchet Head Community, this charming duplex boasts an open floor plan, comfortable leather seating, and all the necessary kitchen amenities one could need. Snuggle up on the sofa and watch movies together on the smart TV. Prepare meals in the well-appointed kitchen and dine together at the table for four. At night, rest well in the two comfortable bedrooms. The primary bedroom features an ensuite bathroom and a desk workspace.

Lacking amenities, misleading listing

While we were pleased with the cleanliness of the space and ease of arrival, the unit did not allow access to the backyard and there was a sign by the back door that said “private property.” We’d not have chosen it had we known we couldn’t use the yard. Also, the kitchen has no coffee machine. We did find a French press and were able to boil water with a pot. Some old Folgers was provided. Things like cutting boards and other basic tools were absent. The living room window was open when we arrived and we were never able to get it closed, so temps went from too hot to too cold.

Dont stay here

Never reserved code to door. No one answered the phone took 2 hours to get someone to respond. Got in the hours cold a small heater for the front living room. Renters down stairs loud tv all night could not sleep both nights. And dishes were put away dirty. Foot prints all over the floor. Looked like was not moped. And shower head had little water pressure

Warm & Welcome Stay

We enjoyed our two night stay. We arrived to a lovely package of Thanksgiving essentials, which made the stay feel extra special. We had plenty of space, and everything needed for a comfortable stay. Appreciated touches like a fan in the closet and first-aid kit if needed. Woke up to deer on the property, which was special. Loved our stay on the island!

Comfortable house that is shared with long-term renters

Cute little house. It is quite a drive from the store. Advertised to have laundry but there’s a sign that says residents laundry. As well as you need a separate laundry code they did not provide Kind of hard dealing with a Vacasa property management as they do not get back to you right away. Could not check in for a couple hours because we are waiting for our code. although I might stay here again, I would check elsewhere first.

Yes and no

On the upside, the place was very clean, and the bedding was extremely comfortable, nice towels, good kitchen and equipment. The bummer was that there was a single bathroom for two people, and alas, the toilet wouldn't flush. We found out late when we were already in pajamas. Not the owner's fault necessarily, but very inconvenient! The other thing is that there is 'quiet time' between 10 pm and 8 am, which I didn't notice until just before our arrival (it is listed) because there is a full-time renter below. Since it is their permanent home, of course, there was noise in the normal course of living on a Friday night! Not very good soundproofing. Also, a small thing, but no hairdryer. We called in the toilet problem in the morning, but we'd already decided to leave and ended up forfeiting one night of pre-paid fees. The other thing that the owner could provide is directions on how the heating works. Lastly, it was in the 30s the one night we stayed, and there is no heater in the bathroom. All this stuff can be addressed, but people need to be aware that it is more of a shared space than a VRBO.
