The hosts were amazing. Very kind and accommodating. The rental was super clean and cozy. I was there with my 4 year old grandson and he absolutely loved the treehouse. There were deer just steps away in the yard. I can’t say enough about the hosts. I would definitely stay here again.

We loved our stay - beautiful place and peaceful place to stay. We booked this place while visiting our grandson who lives in Black Forest. We really loved sitting outside at night around the fire pit, chatting and enjoying a nice glass of wine. House was so cozy and welcoming. The Hosts provided snacks and coffee and were so friendly and we loved getting to know them and their dogs. Thank you for sharing your beautiful property!

Beautiful and Spacious

Lovely setting in the Black Forest. Accommodations were wonderful. Comfortable furniture and beds. Nice quiet area. We spent each evening on the lovely patio with the fire pit turned on. Will be our ‘go-to’ place for any future stays in the Colorado Springs area.

Beautiful Property

We loved our stay, absolute serenity nestled into the Black Forest. We enjoyed sitting outside and soaking up the beautiful afternoons and evenings on the covered porch. They thought of everything and tried to prep the house for guests needs. Thank you for sharing your beautiful property!

Lovely place for sister's outing

The place was clean and welcoming with munchies and chocolate! Michelle was very helpful, responsive and kind. The location was perfect for our visit nearby. A strong plus was the outdoor seating and gas fireplace. Will definitely return!

A wonderful place to stay!

We were visiting Colorado Springs for our nephews graduation from the Air Force Academy and booked the Apartment in the Pines for a few nights. Everything about our stay was very welcoming, comfortable and cozy. All the details of a well kept, well equipped, and super cozy house made us feel right at home. The location was perfect for all we needed to do and see and the Hosts are wonderful people. We loved Chewy too! I would recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

Great stay and location

We were in the area for a special surprise party for a friend at a friends house nearby. It was only 8 miles away so super convenient. We were there mainly just to sleep, but if anyone is looking for a place to visit Colorado Springs, it's close enough to town, yet in the "country".

The Best of Everything

Nothing like being 10 minutes from Colorado Springs and not having to deal with the traffic, congestion and noise. Our place in the Black Forest was quaint, comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable. Beautiful inside and especially outside. Patio area for the whole family and a propane fire pit. Lovely forested area. You can't go wrong with this vacation rental. This will be our go-to place for future visits to Colorado Springs.

Lovely place, lovely hosts

Such a cute place! We stayed for 5 nights. Apartment in the Pines was super clean, well stocked and very cute. Owners are artists and the apartment has their work displayed, loved it! In fact, I’m inspired to sign up for an art class (maybe pottery too) when I get home. Chewy, their dog, is super friendly and nice to have around. Great experience overall, well designed, great hosts, great location!

Relaxation Station

Also left a review on Evolve. Assume it crosses over to VRBO as well. But in the case it doesn’t…Would 💯 stay at this location again if in the area. Very clean, comfortable and cozy with a fantastic outdoor space to enjoy and a sweet treehouse to chill out in as well. Kitchen was well stocked. Water tasted very good and there was plenty of hot water for 3 Ladies. Hosts were inviting and made it a point to make sure we were comfortable and welcomed to the area. A wonderful stay! Thank You!

Awesome hosts!

They were very accommodating and friendly. They loaned us some items that allowed us get full enjoyment out of our visit with our son at the Air Force Academy. Since we are traveling we didn’t have anything and didn’t want to buy for just a couple hours. They sat on the patio with us and we had a great conversation. 5 stars all the way!!!

Peace and quiet

Michelle and Rick are wonderful hosts! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals - instapot and electric skillet. There is more, but we didn't get to it. Also, a lot of seasonings are at the ready so you don't have to buy those items. A great selection of movies, plus the quiet of the area made USAFA parents weekend a success. Highly recommend!

Super Cozy Apartment Close to The Air Force Academy

Our family of five stayed at this apartment and fell in love with the cozy space and amazing views. The downstairs space is well decorated and equipped with everything we needed (kitchen, bathroom, and dining areas). We are runners and we enjoyed a trail from the house to quiet back roads for running, biking and hiking. The treehouse is an added feature that our kids had so much fun exploring. The outdoor space is perfect for end of the day happy hour around the fire. The hosts are amazing and were available to answer questions about the area. I highly recommend this gem in the middle of Black Forest.

Amazing Place!

My husband, high school age daughter and I love our stay here! I can't say enough good things about this beautiful place and wonderful hosts, Michelle and Rick. The apartment is beautiful, clean and homey. It is relaxing and quiet. The tree house is so fun. We enjoyed hanging out by the fire in the evenings and in the the mornings we saw birds and deer right from the patio. Rick and Michelle gave us several great suggestions on things to do and places to eat. We drove over to Pikes Peak Cog railway, Garden of the Gods, Cave of the winds, Manitou Springs and also did a local hike in Black Forest. It feels like you are in the forest yet close to Colorado Springs. I highly recommend a stay here!

The Only Place We'll Stay

We adjusted our dates just so we could stay at Rick and Michelle's place again. We just love it there. They are so friendly and accommodating. And the location couldn't be any better, the Black Forest, just north of Colorado Springs. So away from the crowds, the noise and all the traffic. But just a 10 minute drive back to town. The furnishings are perfect, very comfortable, and room for 4 people easily. We spent much of our time on the front porch covered area. Love the furniture out there and the propane fire pit. Lots of deer, birds and squirrels on the property. It just doesn't get any better!

Black Forest Paradise

Stayed 4 days wish it had been lots more. The house is beautiful and in a peaceful forest setting. The inside is decorated with the owners personal art work that is truly special. The bedrooms are large and comfortable. The kitchen is fully functional for cooking full meals if one desires. We loved the patio and outside since we could sit outside at any time and feel the forest all around us. Everyday we saw deer at the fence or in the woods and the birds gave us lots of entertainment. Check out the treehouse. If we could give the house and the owners 6 scores we would. 5 is only perfect they deserve 6 for being better than perfect.

Beautiful home and location!

Michelle and Rick went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. They left us gifts for our anniversary and reached out several times to see if we had any questions or recommendations of what to do during our stay. Location was amazing. So close to Colorado springs and there were so many food options close by. The home was super clean just as pictured. The only thing i would add is that the owners do live there on the second floor. we didn’t know that when booking as it was only listed once in the details on VRBO. even with that said we had no issues and can honestly say it was the perfect stay!

Like a cozy cabin in the moutains!

My husband and I stayed in this cute and comfortable home during Christmas and had a great time. We went for walks and enjoyed the quiet location. The owners had a welcome gift for us to enjoy and so much thought went into making our stay wonderful. We sat outside by the fire pit or just enjoyed a cup of coffee while watching the birds that frequent the property. There's a fun treehouse you can sleep in, too! The home is located in a wooded area on a large lot with plenty of privacy. You can find fabulous restaurants and shops within 20 minutes. The owners were accommodating, available to answer questions, and willing to make suggestions when needed.
