This is the second year with stayed at Black Bear - the place is great, the host family amazingly friendly. Lots of wildlife (we've seen mule deer, rabbits, turkeys, and even a bear! At the lower edge of Cheyenne Mt you are minutes from the amazing Cheyenne Zoo, The Broadmoor, downtown CoSprings, and both Manitou and Old Colorado City. It's perfect. We'll be back!

What a great get away! The place is a part of a private home with access to the backyard, The backyard is a gem, full of wildlife. We saw deer, fawns, turkeys with babies every day. The description of the place is very accurate with clear instructions for check in and out. The kitchenette has appliances, like microwave and airfryer, but no stove (it is in the description but I missed it), so plan your meals accordingly.Overall, an amazing place!

What a wonderful place to spend a few days. Host, Mary Louise met us with a hardy welcome and a treat to help us celebrate our anniversary. She made a great effort to help my husband with his desire to photograph the wildlife in the yard, even alerting him at 7:00 am of a deer sighting. The unit was perfect and the yard amazing. I had a hard time leaving that deck!!!! We will be back!

What a wonderful experience! The hosts were awesome, the location was so beautiful and the wildlife we saw every day was exciting! This is should be on your list for places to stay if coming to the Colorado Springs area - so close to everything!

We had the absolute best stay! The host is so easy to talk to and went out of her way to make sure we had the best time. The property is beautiful, was very clean, and in a beautiful area. We definitely plan on staying here again! 10/10 would recommend.

What a fantastic stay. Great hosts. Great locations. It was nice to sit outside under the canopy after a long day of adventures. Very relaxing. Seen 2 small herds of deer, 9 wild turkeys and a bear. Wonderful experience we hated to leave.

Holiday Weekend in Colorado Springs

Highly recommended property with a top tier host in the Colorado Springs area. Property was very clean and extremely roomful. The property had some excellent views of the Springs area and also hosted local deer each afternoon. An amazing stay for sure.

Beautiful property

Beautiful property with frequent sightings of animals like deer, turkey, squirrels near the door step. Animal food was provided as part of the stay, this was the first time my kid fed the deers and she was so excited about it. We enjoyed our stay here and the owners were very accommodating.

Scenic and quiet

Lots of wildlife right in the yard; deer, rabbits, turkeys, etc. close to attractions in Colorado Springs. We really enjoyed our stay!

Super nice place, beautiful location and just as beautiful of a host - so friendly, thoughtful and welcoming! All the comforts you need on a trip, as well as some special features that just made this chateau unique. We even encountered some baby turkey and got to feed some friendly deer! Highly recommend!

Cozy and Relaxing

The chateau was very warm and cozy and the bed was THE most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Will definitely go back again.

The neighborhood is beautiful with views of Cheyenne Mountain and backyard nature. We saw lots of turkeys and several deer in the backyard and through the neighborhood. Everything was clean and comfortable with lots of games and movies if you want to stay inside, and beautiful outdoor spaces if you want to be outside. The hosts were very hospitable!

Awesome

We had a wonderful stay, the Black Bear Chatteau. Colorado Springs was beyond what I thought it was going to be. Our host Mary Louise was such a lovely and kind woman. We were very pleased and I would highly recommend anyone to stay at this beautiful property.

What a Blessing

My wife and I felt blessed to be able to stay at this well-maintained property in Colorado Springs. Mary Louise and her sons truly understand and demonstrate the whole concept of hospitality. Looking forward to our next visit.
