âNice pools (warm and cool) outside. Very close and easy to get to the Honda Center for a hockey game (the reason for our visit) as well as a nice mexican place nearby. Not too exciting breakfast but they did cook pancakes on demand which was nice. Lower score for environmental friendliness since we were given plastic cutlery at breakfast. Hotel is a bit run-down but clean. â

The property itself is modern and generally well-maintained, but the cleaning staff tends to slack off. They donât clean the corners of the floors, leave hair in the shower, and donât properly clean the toilet and the sink.

âSince this hotel was highly rated, we had some expactations. But we dont understand the high grade? The room was fine, the pool area was boring, small and looked unclean, The breakfast was OK for beeing in the US, but of course lots of plastics. The lobby is super tiny, the location is not very good; next to a road, but it is walking distance to town center/ the pier. I would give this hotel/motel a 7 out of 10.

âWe had a very good experience at this hotel. The room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The location was great due to close access to freeways. We red from other reviews that it was a bit noisy from the freeway but we werenÂŽt bothered about that. Last but not least, one of the staff in the breafast area, Ashley, was very service minded and greeted us with a warm smile every morning. Excellent service from her.. "Really nice hotel but canât really see why anyone would like to stay in this part of LA unless your doing business in downtown or have friends to visit there like I had. Downtown LA is not a place to be for tourists if you want to see the best of LA. I felt completely safe though on hotel premises, in my single room I had a safe for my valuables and during day time it is of course safe to walk around on the streets nearby but of course keep out/away from the Skid Row area with all the tents. The homeless people are nice and I never felt threatened but look ahead where you are going on the streets and donât look down into your phone.
Single room with a skyview at almost the top but a 13 floor building wonât give so much skyview at all in downtown LA.
Some reviewers here have praised the shower, I looked into my shower and thought thatâs just a regular shower head but OMG that water pressure was superb!
So I am still recommending this hotel for anyone having a purpose to visit downtown LA (not just random touristing of LA) or a romantic getaway where you want to stay in and old fashioned hotel, enjoy the rooftop bar and going by taxi to a restaurant at the evening when it is dark outside (avoid walking when it is dark!).
The tiles in the bathrooms of my single room was really beautiful and the bed just perfect.
So this hotel canât do much about its surroundings but the historic elevators could get some more love by hotel management.
