“Initial feeling was a below average decor and room feel. Great hot tub. Until the power went out around 1130pm. Then we were woken from our sleep at 130am with staff pounding on the doors and yelling evacuate the building. I opened the door and a staff member told myself and the across the hall neighbor we needed to evacuate. When we asked why she left and said I’ll look into it further. I got dressed and went to the hall where I was greeted by three firemen that stated they received a fire...

“Large clean room with fridge, microwave, and coffee. Beds were very comfortable. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Great location within walking distance of restaurants. Will definitely return.”

“Beautiful little cottage. The only suggestion is to refine the check in process. Through Expedia I did not get the message to contact us we were checking in after 7pm. Expedia also did not provide my number for them to contact me. He charged my card without contacting me. Despite this the stay was good. ”

“We really enjoyed our stay at the Lightwell. The spa is amazing, the staff friendly and helpful, and the rooms clean. We also loved that there is a lounge, a rooftop bar, and the hotel is conveniently located. Just be aware that the rooms are smaller than usual and there are no refrigerators in the rooms. But this is our new favorite place to stay in Hood River!”

“Love this place and happy to be going there since it opened over 30 years ago It’s changed overtime with multiple different owners. Overall, this pace is still to out liking despite lack of the woodburning for our place, the resort fee and more recently the parking fee. In this particular case, the checkout staff was rude. “This vintage hotel in downtown Stevenson is perfect for dog walks, breakfast and dinner. I had at least 3 choices for dinner with my dog...and the river and cruise lines, shops and eateries are top drawer. Trust me I travel 3 times a year with my dog from WA to CO and back. I stay in lots of hotels and airbnbs. This hotel will remain on my "to stay" list as will the town.”
