Pensionat i Cork

"Online Coupley Court seemed like a colourful and unique place to stay at. In reality it was the opposite. Grey and dark. Literally dark since the lightning in both the room and kitchen was very bad and dim. You couldn't see a thing in the hallway mirror in the room since there was no light at all as you came in. The bathroom had dust falling into the shower cabin from the ventilation. The bed was so soft that I actually hurt my back by sitting down on it. The kitchen lacked most amenities and the floor was sticky, as if it'd been mopped with the wrong kind of floor cleaner. I wanted to mop it myself but there were no cleaning products to use. There was also no kitchen cloth, kitchen paper or kitchen towel so the surfaces were wet or stained from having been wiped with a sponge. I told the reception about this but nothing was done. We had to use a towel from our room in the kitchen. Cleaners couldn't help us when we asked since they only cleaned the rooms and the staff cleaning sheets on the walls showed that no one had signed them since mid May (our stay was 11-13 June). The facilities had a gym that we could use which was good - but that was also very dirty. None of the machines had been wiped in a very long time and you could see both dust and sweat stains on them. There was no spray nor paper towels or similar to wipe with even tho notes stated "wipe machines after every use". There were also two big piles of water on the floor amongst the machines from a leak in the roof"

"I stayed for one night only, during a business trip. I booked a room with a double bed, but was given a room with two single beds put together. I requested to change, explaining that I have a bad back, but was told that there were no rooms of that type available, and was told they can’t do much for me, when the correct thing to do is to offer an upgrade where there is a double bed. It’s absurd to have to sleep with two beds splitting up underneath one’s back when one books a room with a king/queen bed. I also requested to check out an hour later so I could go to the gym, given that my flight was late afternoon. I was abruptly told that they do not allow any late checkouts, despite the statement on the website of the hotel that informs guests that they always try to accommodate late checkouts, and guests should ask. I travel roughly 150 days a year for work and can say that the service at the Dean Cork is rude, unfriendly, abrasive and just overall lousy. Bed was cracking and springs could be felt. Cracks on tiles and walls and doors in the room. The Dean Cork is all “style” but no substance. "

"One of the best customer service I have ever experienced - far above the expected both at check in, upgrade to a suit without request and personal greeting with complimentary coffee/tea and croissants despite early checkout, including free airport shuttle. A pity it was only for one night, would definitely book again."
