Detta hem på stylter ligger i den lugna underavdelningen i La Playa. Detta underbara hus har havsutsikt från övervåningen med uteservering, som har en solig sida och en skuggig sida och en strandpromenad till stranden. Utanför, ner är ett picknickbord och kolgrill för underhållande och en utomhusdusch för att skölja bort sanden från stranden. Det stora, öppna vardagsrummet har en stor bäddsoffa, kärleksstol, stol, TV, kabel och Wifi. Matbordet har plats för 6 med en bänk och 4 stolar, bra för att spela kortspel. Det finns 2 barstolar i baren intill köket. Det kompletta köket är utrustat med köksredskap och redskap för dina matlagningsbehov. I en garderob i köket hittar du en tvättmaskin och torktumlare. Sovrummen är ett delat arrangemang för avskildhet. Det stora sovrummet (BR1) har King size-säng, stol, TV och ett badrum med dusch. Gäst sovrummet (BR2) har 2 drottning sängar, en stol, byrå och tillgång till badrummet med en fristående dusch. Detta badrum är också tillgängligt från korridoren för gästerna. Perfekt för vintersemester, belägen i en lugn, rolig cirkel av hem.

Excellent View

We were just 2 blocks from other family for a Beach wedding. The neighborhood was very quite and the view from the back corner of the porch was beautiful to see the ocean. We enjoyed our stay!!!

Older house needs updating

This older house has large rooms and is cute but it needs updating. Toilets are very short and difficult to use with no rails, 2 old non-working appliances, no non-stick pans, Nest thermostat changed to a warm 75 several times a day, beds are hard and old flat pillows, no outside shower, non-working ice maker in old cracked fridge. There is a nice narrow ocean view. Maintenance guys and management team was very friendly.

Turned out better than planned

The host at Life in Paradise helped accommodate us on the spur of the moment when things didn’t go quite to plan. Our trip turned out better than expected and I’m so grateful to the crew who made it happen. I’ve been coming to port A since I was a kid, and this was the best trip in over fifty years. Thank you, guys!

Close to the Beach!

Older, but cute little property with private boardwalk straight to the beach! I loved the large kitchen (perfect for vacation brunches). Overall, this was great value for the time and location to town and beach fun!

Very misleading

Only thing good is the location. - floors are dirty - master bedroom door doesn’t shut - master bathroom door doesn’t shut - kitchen counter has cracks and missing tiles. - kitchen didn’t have cookware like the listing said - lights didn’t work. - master bedroom carpet had a lot of stains. - outdoor shower is broken - master shower is broken. Door doesn’t shut, shower head sprays everywhere. - stains in the sheets.. ew. Would not recommend staying here.

Great location, needs updates

Loved the ease of getting to and from the beach. We were able to spend the whole day at the beach and if we needed anything from the house, like sandwhiches or to let the dogs out to potty, the house was right there. We grilled out a couple times but it would have been nice to have a light downstairs by the grill so you can see what you’re doing. We started late the first night and had to use our phone light. The kitchen counter needs to be replaced, it didn’t feel sanitary with the grout of the tile. The living room was very nice and the couches were very comfortable. We really enjoyed the large table for meals and games in the evening. The porch was also a good spot to hang. The house was very clean when we arrived.

Property is a fantastic location with very easy beach access. Could use a little TLC (removal of dead tree out front and mow/cut weeds/broken chair taken off porch/two old grills in disrepair taken off property) But plenty of kitchen cooking items and board games! Sitting area was cozy and family friendly - plenty of towels. Was cool inside through our stay.

Clean Old Comfy Convenient Beach Rental

Pros- -super short boardwalk to the beach -very clean rental (shout out to cleaning service!) - super comfy living room furniture -decently comfortable beds -AC worked fine in July -excellent communication and quick response time with management company -working fridge, w/d, dishwasher, tv, and showers -LOCATION Cons - no working outdoor shower (no big deal though) - Old (but who cares if it’s clean and most things work?) - Master sink was a trickle ( we didn’t report to management, but they probably would have responded if we had.) Overall impression: If we stay in Port A, we would definitely stay here again. Then management company seemed top notch. Thank you for allowing us to rent your home.

Run down beach house.

Went there with my wife, two children (5 and 13) and my mother-in-law. The location of the property was excellent. A short walk to the beach via the private boardwalk was awesome day and night. Sitting on the upstairs back deck and listening to the waves at night was perfect. We go to Port Aransas and rent a house at least once a year if not two times. This was by far the most run-down house that I've stayed in since vacationing there as an adult. It is advertised as having cable but there isn't. There are three televisions, none of which have cable. Someone previously left a ROKU stick with the living room TV so we were able to entertain our 5 year old with that when necessary. The tile countertop has missing tiles and some that are held on with white duct tape. There are a couple of appliances built into the cabinets that don't work. The second bathroom sink doesn't drain. There are holes in the floor where you can see 10 feet to the ground beneath you (the house in on stilts). Everything hanging on the walls was covered in dust. On the south side of the house, the floor slopes off by at least a few inches in the span of a few feet. When looking from beneath the house, the hardware connecting the "stilts" to the support beams is extremely rusted and I question the structural integrity of the place. I am in construction and deal with this type of thing for a living. Above the outdoor shower, there is evidence of rodent activity. I cleaned off insulation that had fallen onto the slab as a result of this activity only to see it there again the next day. Clearly a high-traffic area. I've been coming to Port A for my entire life. All of my mother's side of the family either lives in Corpus or on the island. I'm aware that this is a beach house. And I know that rodents and insect activity is common in this climate. But like I said, this was by far the most run-down rental that I have stayed in. Honestly, it's not really a deal-breaker for me, or I wouldn't have stayed. If I would have known though I would have stayed somewhere else for that much money.

Great location, not so great property

This place is great if you're just looking for a place to sleep, shower, and cook simple meals. It provides easy access to the beach and plenty of restaurants, groceries, gas stations, etc... nearby. The property itself isn't so great. Like other reviews have already stated, the property is dingy and very much in need of repairs. I would not recommend staying here if you plan on spending any significant amount of time in the property itself doing anything other than sleeping.

Great location with low standards

Great location, close to restaurants and you can’t beat the proximity to the private boardwalk! We could see the ocean from a good portion of the deck. The really negative thing about this home is the low standards of ownership. It was HOT inside. We read the reviews knowing others said it was hot so we came prepared with multiple fans. They tell you after you book that the thermostat must stay no lower than 74 degrees, yikes! Even if we had put it much lower it would not have helped as the home is not well sealed. There were holes in the floor where air could escape which left the home very hot. The a/c unit looked new and there is a nest thermostat but with the house not being sealed it just doesn’t hold in cold air. The bedrooms were the worst for the heat where you need to sleep on top of all covers with ceiling fan and additional fans blowing on you — and it’s still very uncomfortable. We thought hard about sleeping in our car just to cool off. It was in the 70s outside during our stay so I can’t imagine what it would be like if warmer out. The other downfall is that it is very dirty — the grout is black, kitchen/fridge gross, bathrooms/shower head gross, doors, walls, carpet, etc are all gross. If you wipe something down your towel is black. Sheets and towels were all clean, although I would recommend bringing your own bedding if scratchy sheets bother you. We loved that it was a dog friendly home, but the downside to that was that the rugs and carpet were gross. Easy to get in/out with a keyless entry.

Fun Time

We had a great time! The house had everything we needed for our stay. We brought our own grill because someone said in a review that the other grills were rusted out. We did not need to bring our grill because there is a new one at the property now. Beds are comfortable, air conditioning worked great, and refrigerator worked great! Loved the boardwalk to the beach and the view from the deck.

Great location, but dated

We really liked staying at The Sherman House. Check in process was easy and we were impressed with the management company that responded quickly and fixed issues. At one point the microwave started sparking and they quickly came out and replaced it. The location of this property is great, in a quiet little neighborhood with easy boardwalk access. The interior is very dated, bathroom hardware was broken, kitchen appliances very old. There were no spices, salt and pepper to cook with and barely any utensils. The air conditioner does not work and needs to be replaced. It was constantly running at 75 but never actually got to 75. The temp stayed more like 80+ and nights were awful to try and stay cool. The guest bedroom was very hot. The grill outside looked like it was rusted out, so that was a no go for us. Overall great location, money just needs to be spent to update, fix the AC and make it more comfortable with cooking accessories for guests.

Ok but could have been better.

The house could use some work. We had to contact the lease company. The first was keys to the house barely worked. Some of the doors did not work at all such as the door you show in the pictures going out of the master bedroom. They brought us another Key so we had one that worked and one that kind of worked. The air conditioner didn’t work most of the week. Friday night it stopped working at all. Sent work order and it was fixed and was working this morning as we were getting ready to leave.

Location great otherwise disappointed

Loved the short walk to the beach but rather disappointing otherwise. Pictures look great until you zoom in. Broken tile counter tops, wallpaper pealing off. Not updated in years, except the living room furniture and it was nice. Master bed was a king with maybe a queen size bedspread. Only found 1 remote that worked, yet 3 TV Garbage disposal had food still in it. It was 78 degrees when we arrived at 6pm and the LR ceiling fan would not work. Called maintenance, promised to come by that night and it was never fixed.
