âDinner at the restaurant is fantastic! The Chocolate tour (5 min walk) was a great mid morning tour and very interesting - make and eat your own chocolate! The walk up to La Fortuna was challenging so ask for a ride of you need one. The owner was incredibly helpful and was able to get me a day pass to Baldi Springs for the locals rate :) â
âThe staff were incredible. The pictures are amazing, but the view in person IS EVEN BETTER! You have to go and see for yourself. The included breakfast is also amazing food!

âOMG! We just loved Chongos Place! The cabins are so cute and beautiful, clean with all necessities. The porch with the hammock was just our favorite place. The plants right outside the porch invite these beautiful hummingbirds and butterflies that we got to observe up close! And the pool was amazing, we spend hours in it each day. Great if you have kids (my daughter never wanted to leave the pool!)
And to top it all... the view of the Arenal is breathtaking.

âHotel is in great location but not easy to find according to our sat nav which took us couple streets down. Parking is right in front. Room was really nice and well equipped. Hotel staff were friendly, nice and helpful when booking activities. I would recommend this place. Good parking right in front.â
âMe and my traveling partner stayed at Casa del Rio for three nights. The hotel area is really beautiful and calm. The staff was very service minded. We would definitely stay here again if we go back to La Fortuna.

âThis 2 story rental villa has a great view of Volcan Arenal from the second story. It overlooks a farm with elephant grass used for grazing animals. The location is about 2 km south of the center of La Fortuna, so a car is necessary. It is close to several of the tour outfitters that do canyoneering and rafting. It is initially hard to see on your first visit (look for the Sapiens sign on Ruta 702) because the group of 3 houses are set 70 meters south of the road and accessed via a thin 1 lane...

âWe really enjoyed our stay at Monte Real. The staff was kind and very helpful in every way. Beautiful view of the volcano from our balcony. Room provided everything we needed - AC and fridge worked perfectly. We only missed a smaller lamp for the bedside table. Nice pool. Breakfast served at restaurant right next door and you got to choose from a few different set menus. No buffet. Breakfast was freshly prepared which took about 15 minutes. âWe stayed in a beautiful wood bungalow with private bathroom, air conditioning, terrace and a wonderful view of the Arenal Volcano.
There is a beautiful garden and parking right outside the bungalow. The hotel has a swimming pool, and breakfast at the next door restaurant was excellent.
The personnel was very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is situated approx 2 km from the central square, but it was only a cheap, few minutes taxi ride.â

âIf you are staying in La Fortuna, I cannot imagine a better option. We used it as a home base for all the usual activities in the area. For meals, we could cook right there (the Super Rosvil market is a short walk away) or we could go out to eat - there's Mario's place on the next corner for easy food, or an easy walk to downtown for lots of other options). Secure parking at the apartment beat trying to find parking in town.
