The CABIN, 900sf, sleeps 4 adults + 1-2 kids and 1-2 pets. The outside front deck and main spaces are wheelchair accessible.



Architecturally exquisitely designed: The quiet and peaceful cabin has an inside of warm honey pine walls, vaulted ceilings, ole school and clerestory windows resulting in amazing, natural light.



SPACES, Inside & Out, are perfect for solitary stay, couples, family or group for 3+ night escapes. Plan a Bachelor or Bridesmaid weekend, yoga or art retreat, or event/party or wedding for *20 day guests.



The MAIN FLOOR includes lofted queen bedroom and dining rooms, game area and full equipped kitchen. The full bathroom has shower, handmade Potters’ Brown sink, universal height toilet with ADA grab bars.



The LOFT has queen bed, kid-size futon and sitting area. Accessible via ladder.



OUTSIDE the Cabin: The 1,200sf front porch and deck offer table/chairs, bench, porch swing and hammock and make a perfect place to read or watch wildlife. Out back find porch, deck and fire circle, overlooking a dry creek bed, with string lights, weber grill, hammocks, seating/eating areas, and benches perfect for drinking your morning coffee. Wrap up the evenings chiminea and firewood and a complementary s’more kit. Shhh to see deer, racoon, birds, and our family of armadillos.



ROAM our 25 acres including a park, kids playground, toddler play area, rock climbing, rock garden and meadow. The MEADOW is the ideal place to watch wildlife, relax, enjoy the sunrise, and stargazing in our dark skies.



OUTSIDE LIVING ROOM, at top of hill offers 2,400sf covered porch with sitting/picnic areas, ping-pong, darts, porch swing, benches and hammocks.



GOT KIDS: Kids love the tonka trucks, red wagons, butterfly nets and bug boxes, and scavenger hunt. Port-a-crib, highchair and safety gate are available.



PET Friendly: Don't leave your furry family member behind. Pets are welcome with HEPA fee and pet agreement. Limited to 1-2 pets, under 100 lbs.

INN KEEPER Availability: We live on-site, though you’ll rarely see us, we are available to address comfort, safety & maintenance questions. Otherwise, you likely won't see us.

This Retreat is a labor of love for innkeepers; Jeffrey Lee Basehore, Architect, & Kathy Holdway married for over 28+years. It blends their strengths and dreams, personally and professionally, designed to be energy efficient, with "Nature and Art at Every Turn."



“I always wanted to live in a treehouse!” is Jeff’s response when Retreat guests comment that it feels like they are on top the trees.



Professionally speaking:

Kathy is a community leader & Entrepreneur with over 35+ years of training/ empowering leaders and building the capacity of nonprofit agencies. She is the founder of A Circle of Ten, Inc is a nonprofit building capacity of leaders to improve the quality of life in their community. It's a Network for Collaboration and Teaching Community Organizing, Program Development & Grant Writing as a Process, since 1996. C10 offers monthly 3-day grant writing seminars on-site. It’s common for guests to return to the Retreat for professional development.



Jeffrey, an Architect with 35 years specializing in energy-efficient design, technologies, and construction of homes, churches, and businesses, is renowned for his artistry in creating beautiful structures. This Retreat exemplifies this.



Both are active in their community and volunteer with Edom artists bringing Art to Life. As well as nonprofit Veteran and performance efforts working to increase artist and business opportunities in the area.

From the Retreat point of view: Hospitality comes easily to the innkeepers! Kathy puts folks at ease with her humor and storytelling. Jeffrey Lee’s calm spirit and good nature ensure every guest's comfort. Their songs and music bring harmony. Both were raised in large families where “everyone was welcome at the table. They kept that tradition going with daughters Faith, Alex, and Jessi with monthly gatherings bringing multi-generational, diverse folks together for jam sessions, food, laughter, and friendship. Joy in harmony: Retreat guests frequently make a point to drop by Edom for Tuesday night jam sessions and/or April, June, Oct, or Nov Artisan Trails or Festivals to hear the Innkeepers sing/harmonize and play instruments with friends. Guests often request on-site jam sessions to highlight their stay. We have hosted multigenerational family, friends & business get-a-ways on 25 wooded acres in NE Texas, since 2008.
