“Canyon Lake Resort is rather old, but well taken care of. Clean and comfortable I've visited quite a few dodgy hotels around the US where ones have let the interiors deteriorate, this was certainly not the case here even though some of the furniture could do with an upgrade. The rice was rather steep for our visit, in July 2018, but other hotels in the area were even more expensive.”

“really close to lots of tourist spots, i enjoyed shopping and eating in areas near by. also super well placed town in between rapid city and custard. we loved staying in a lodge instead of a hotel. ”

“We had no idea where to stay and when I came across pictures of this lodge I knew this was it. We arrived and we were greeted by Deb as we were checking the place out before we went to look for our room. Very sweet lady! It was soooo relaxing to come back at night after our adventures to relax on the front porch! Don’t hesitate book this lodge now!! We will definitely be back!”

“The only reason I don’t want to write this review is that I worry our summer timeslot will be filled with other lucky groups.This was our second summer staying at this lodge for our multi-generational family, and it was just as perfect as the first time. With plenty of bedrooms, large gathering areas, and a fully equipped kitchen with a large dining space, it easily accommodated all of us and made our time together both comfortable and memorable.The lodge is located down a long dirt road tucked...

“Our family came to the Black Hills to enjoy the abundance of MVUM roads and trails. We brought our Jeeps and the Alpine Prairie Lodge is right in the middle of some of the seemingly endless possibilities of riding opportunities. The lodge sits right on the newly paved S Rotchford road so access is easy to trailer off road vehicles in. The drive way is a little challenging to back a trailer in but my son is an excellent driver and used to backing our 30 ' trailer and was able to get in the drive....

"Så fina pittoreska små chalet att övernatta i. Mycket trevlig och serviceinriktad personal. Skön säng och lagom mjuka kuddar. 2 frukter, saft och yughurt till frukost. Det åt vi. Gott och bra, men till det söta muffins! Vi gick till Subway rakt över gatan istället, för att få en "riktig frukost". Vårt rum med en queensize bed, var otroligt kompakt. Vi var två personer i rummet och kunde knappt röra oss, och svårt att få plats med två stora resväskor. Vi blev också besvikna för att vi fick ett rum på baksidan av vårt lilla hus och att rummet var så litet. Detta drar ner det poängen. Skulle vi bo där igen? Nej. Många butiker och restauranger i närheten."
