The property was not quite what we were expecting. It is advertised as a 5 star resort, but it is most likely a 3 star at best. I would rate it as a 2 star. Both the unit and the property need updating. The mattresses and pillows need to be replaced. The bed coverings had food embedded in them. Lobby flooded and access to Starbucks and the bar was blocked off for more than 2 days. The boardwalk is almost nonexistent. The hotel next door was under construction. Getting to/from the beach was almost impossible if you did not have someone with you. You needed to push a button that timed-out by the time you were able to open the gate. Security was rude - we wanted to walk down to the beach at night and they did not want us passing through the pool area, even though that was the primary way of accessing the beach. The people renting umbrellas and chairs blocked the entire beachfront, requiring us to sit just outside the emergency access area. While the unit was at the end of the hall, sound-proofing was not great, especially from the unit above us. At night, it sounded like they were bowling above us -- a constant rolling noise. There were a lot of unattended children running around the lobby, elevators, pool, etc. While not expecting an adult only experience, there were way more unattended young children that I would expect. Overall, we were pretty disappointed.
