"Trout Retreat" är en riktig och autentisk timmerstuga som ligger bara femton minuter utanför Boone (bara några minuter från Blue Ridge Pkwy) och ligger i ett vykort som inställning på 21 vackra tunnland med nästan 1/2 mil klass En lager öring som rinner direkt bakom stugan. Strömmen, Elk Creek, är rankad som den näst renaste strömmen i hela NC. Om du letar efter en bäck vid strömmen hittar du ingen bättre plats någonstans. det finns gott om vilda djur inklusive öring, rådjur, kalkon, räv, bäver och fåglar.

Trout Retreat-stugan sover upp till fyra med en king size-säng, bäddsoffa, två fulla bad och ett fullt utrustat kök och innehåller alla redskap, sängkläder och handdukar som krävs för att göra din vistelse bekväm. Stugan har också en stor skärmad veranda och ett däck med privat badtunna som har utsikt över bäcken och picknickbord där du kan få en unik matupplevelse eller helt enkelt sitta och koppla av till strömmens sevärdheter och ljud. We enjoyed our stay in this log cabin retreat. The cabin was clean, and had everything we needed to enjoy our 2 nights there with our dog. We enjoyed the gas fireplace. From the gas grill in the screened in porch overlooking the stream, to the very comfortable king size bed upstairs, very well equipped kitchen, we didn’t need anything.Mgt ROCKS!

It was a beautiful cabin in a beautiful setting. I loved the screened porch. We slept out there and spent most of our time when at the cabin on the porch. The only time we spent inside was to cook meals and take baths.

We booked the trout retreat as a long weekend getaway. This was just before a crippling winter storm hit most of the southeast. The manager’s communication with us in the days leading up to our arrival was excellent, including keeping us informed on the maintenance status of the hot tub, as well as offering provisions and concessions ahead of the winter storm.When we arrived, everything was as advertised. There was plenty of cookware, glassware, and utensils for us to eat in for all of our meals.Everything was clean, tidy, and in order. Our stay was during extreme cold temperatures, and this led to a large temperature differential between downstairs and the loft where we slept.There were plenty of towels, soap and shampoo supplied. There was a dedicated hot tub towel basket with plenty of towels. We used the laundry facility downstairs and that worked great also.We experienced issues with the hot tub being overheated, but there was maintenance staff on site when we arrived installing a part they had just received that afternoon. This leads me to believe that if there wasn’t a large snowstorm, preventing a technician getting to the house, arrangements would have been made to repair the hot tub immediately. In other words everyone was very responsive and even made accommodations for us to use the guest house hot tub instead.Lastly and most meaningfully to us, given the roads were really bad the day of our departure, our hosts worked with us on departure time.

We had a great stay at this little cabin. It’s just off a small creek, which I think they call a river, that is stocked with trout. We didn’t fish but all the equipment was available for use if we wanted. There wasn’t any cel service so make sure you print out the directions on how to get there and how to get in before you get there. Once you’re there though the WiFi was great if you do need to make a call. There was a slight communication error on our dates but the owner was very responsive and made sure we were taken care of. We had a great experience

We were so happy at Trout Retreat for our long weekend away from home. The cabin was just the right amount of space for the 2 of us and our 2 little dogs. The cabin was very well appointed… we cooked all our meals and except for packing our 2 good knives and a meat free cutting board, we found everything we needed. We used the hot tub several times a day, enjoyed the ambience of the electric fireplace, found the smart tv too smart for us. We slept well listening to Elk Creek, and spent hours reading on the porch and walking along the river enjoying the changing colors.It was just the re-set we needed.The cabin is well used, obviously loved, just a touch funky and decorated in ‘cabin theme’ to the max. It was a really fun change of pace.

The cabin was better than described. We absolutely loved everything. One of the best vacations we have had. The cabin, the grounds, the creek, the location was perfect. It had everything we needed We didn't use the fireplace, grill, or firepit as we traveled a lot around the area. We did use the hot tub and played in the creek. We would definitely recommend this cabin and would love to come back one day.

Wonderful ideal stay. Location on large wooded property. Yard and stream perfect for dog or kids to play. Cabin as described and pictured ... clean, comfortable and well appointed. Gas fireplace great. Large gas grill. Terrific.Property 7 miles from main road via narrow, windy road. I personally loved it in our sports car. 2nd on-property cabin well positioned and not intrusive. Will return!!
