“The cabin is cozy and while nothing fancy has plenty of amenities like hot water, bathroom, wifi, etc that the nearby campground does not. Shirley made sure to leave us a note about the heater and wood burning stove. The small touches like leaving a candy bar are great too. Love having a campfire in the evening and Shirley provides plenty of wood.”

“Nestled in the woods, this home is a perfect getaway and a great base for exploring the natural beauty of Southern Illinois! Kevin is an excellent host communicating details for our stay. Great rooms, beds, porch, bath and views to the forest! All super comforable (and exceptionally clean too). I made dinner last night and it was easy to find what I needed in the kitchen. We will definitely come back again!”

“Very nice, comfortable home and we enjoyed playing pool in the evenings. We didn't have a chance to try out the hot tub but the back deck area would have been a nice place to hang out if we had stayed there longer. It was a convenient place to stay while checking out Shawnee National Forest and Big City State Park.”

“Place was very clean other than marks on the wall. The owner was AWESOME! Always responsive and friendly when we reached out. Beds were comfy, kitchen was large and very clean. Pool table was lots of fun. Didn't use the hot tub bc it was unreasonably warm but looked clean and well maintained. Would definitely stay again or use Brian's VBRO spots again. ”

“Hot tub was clean. We did scoop out stuff daily to keep it cleaner. Kitchen is set up nicely. Everything you would need in it, (except a casserole dish, LOL) Bedrooms are awesome and I love the bathrooms. Outside patio is so relaxing. Love the little gas fire pit. Outside grill was clean and we used it everyday! ”

“An amazing home! The perfect secluded area, but still so close to civilization!! The two lakes right by the house were amazing. The movie room was so nice and we loved the pool area that was just a 1 minute drive away! The massive fridge, deep freezer, and ice maker were huge perks. Also every person had an actual SUPER comfy bed to sleep on. 10/10 super luxurious and resort feels for southern Illinois.”
