“Lovely, unusual and quaint cottage in a beautiful area. Well equipped with everything we needed. Comfortable beds. Loved the stairs and rooms on different levels but might be difficult for some. Shops, cafes and pubs right outside the front door. Great stay in a lovely area. ”

Maybe a baking sheet, smaller saucepan and a baking dish would have been useful - not a big deal!Lovely to be next to the beck, loads of birds to watch and interesting places to visit.Drive from The Tan Inn to Hawes not for the faint hearted, narrow and very steep.Noticed a funny mark in the oven which I couldn't clean so emailed the office and someone came the next day to clean it - excellent. “Fantastic find. Lovely views. We were blessed with new born lambs to watch. It's quiet apart from a variety of bird song, lovely. Each pod is labelled and has a discrete fencing/ stone wall for privacy. The hut itself was clean and in great condition and a good temperature. Perfect size for a couple. There is a double sofa bed for 2 more, but that would be extremely cosy. Kitchen area is fine for self catering. “Our stay that the leveret was so peaceful and out of the way but not too far from shops and pubs. The cabin was so cosy and private. We ordered more logs from the owners and the response was quick and sonwere the logs. Everything was excellent, wish we stayed a little longer as went far too quick. "The location is a perfect ten, but the staff was far from good. First of all, it took us 1.5 hours to check in, and we didn’t sense any effort to speed up the process. There was a complete lack of willingness from the staff to make our experience enjoyable. Our room was also dirty, which unfortunately aligned with the poor check-in experience. The Tan Hill has the potential to be amazing. It has everything going for it—except the staff, who failed to make our stay pleasant."
