“Arrived Monday afternoon, member of staff said the chef had done a runner, on the Tuesday another member of staff said the chef had a day off, on the Wednesday another member of staff said the chef had taken an extra day off and offered us tea and coffee and cornflakes foc. The bar closed at 5 so if you wanted an evening meal you had to order early, that is if the chef was in. Sorry i cant give this hotel a rating, and the shower was hopless.”

“Spooky!!! This place is definitely haunted, 100%, whilst staying here last night I woke to see the outline of a ghost at the end of my bed 👻, it moved slowly across the room towards the window and then disappeared. If you like the paranormal this is the place to stay. Will definitely come again.”

“The location is a perfect ten, but the staff was far from good. First of all, it took us 1.5 hours to check in, and we didn’t sense any effort to speed up the process. There was a complete lack of willingness from the staff to make our experience enjoyable. Our room was also dirty, which unfortunately aligned with the poor check-in experience. The Tan Hill has the potential to be amazing. It has everything going for it—except the staff, who failed to make our stay pleasant.”

“We were warmly welcomed by staff who were friendly and helpful. Our room was immaculate with all of the amenities we could have wished for. The restaurant was excellent- again staff very attentive, friendly and had a sense of humour! Breakfast was well worth payimg for-plenty of choice and lots of variety for those with special dietary requirements. We slept soundly as the bed was very comfy! Also really enjoyed access to the spa!Would definitely visit again!”
