“Our stay at Guesthouse Koundo was excellent. It’s a beautiful home located, in our opinion, in the best spot in Nikko as it is easy to walk to the popular areas as well as catch the bus to go up to the mountain. There are also wonderful neighborhood restaurants to try within walking distance. It’s in a quiet neighborhood surrounded by beautiful nature. We were kindly allowed to leave our bags early, which was a great help because we had a lot of luggage.

“The apartment was really nice. Good location and price. Communication was fast and clear, until the day of check-in, when they stopped answering completely. We tried to ask things like how to access the key and how to check-in properly. We tried through e-mail, through hotels.com and we tried calling, no answer.
We managed to solve it ourselves after a while but they have still remained completely silent, two days after check-out at the time of writing.”
