“Stayed for two weeks in September 2023. For starters, the host family at Talalla Freedom are wonderful. Helpful, friendly, adjusted to my food allergies, went over and beyond. Rs 250 for a pot of fresh tea. The pool is lovely and well kept, the view and access to Talalla beach is phenomenal (as long as you don't have any mobility issues. Beds are Sri Lanka firm but comfy. You can sit in a nice recliner with your tea and watch the monkeys walk by. The birds in the area are beautiful. Be aware...

“Hidden gem tucked over a hill just off the main road with a jungle outlook. Lovely rooms, amazing breakfasts, friendly hosts and staff, and a short walk to where the action is. Would stay again in a heartbeat. ”

“The place is difficult to find, after booking they should send an email with a map to get there. The room is basic but clean. Good size room and bathroom. There is a fan but not a/c and during the night it is quite hot. Only cold water. There is a mosquito net but it is too short so mosquitoes get in the sleeping area. “This hotel has a nice location between Weligama and Mirissa (only a short Tuk Tuk ride to both locations. There is no noicy traffic and youve got the beach all by yourself at the hotels doorstep. The facilities are great with large and clean rooms and so is the pool area. Service is really excellent and so is the breakfast. However lunch/dinner is less inspired and a bit pricey. Great WiFi by Sri Lankean standards. A gem.”
