Njut av vackra promenader genom skogsmarken till Novar Estate som korsar Black Rock Gorge bridge och det är vattenfallet. Ett attraktivt hus på egen hand med vacker naturträdgård och stora skogsmarker. Utmärkta ställen att äta lokalt. Lokal butik 4 mil. Hotell / restaurang inom 15 minuters promenad.
Beläget nära en liten by med havet på vår front och skogar och kullar bakifrån, är vi också tillräckligt nära till platser som Loch Ness, Royal Dornoch Golf Course och ett överflöd av lokala whiskidestillerier inklusive The Glenmorangie.

A perfect holiday home

The house offers everything you need for a perfect holiday. It is in a quiet location, has a beautiful garden, is very well equipped and was very clean. The kitchen facilities also left nothing to be desired.We particularly enjoyed the conservatory. It was always pleasantly warm here and the view of the garden is simply fantastic.As we were travelling in an electric car, we were also very pleased to be able to charge the car on the property.

The cottage exceeded our expectations. The information we got and how we entered the cottage was easy. Very good communication with the owners.The facilities in the cottage was more than we had anticipated. Everything was accounted for so the comfort level was very high. Very beautiful surroundings and clean. If we go back on holidays in Scotland, we will definitely come back to Westlodge Cottage.

Lovely country getaway

Peaceful and beautiful place for a relaxing stay. We had a wedding to go to in Inverness and transit to and from there was very smooth. The family enjoyed the grounds and countryside walks. We had a good visit as a family.

Amazing Home Base for Traveling the Highlands

This place was such a spectacular find. We used it as our base for traveling through the highlands and it was perfect. Amazingly well-stocked kitchen and such cool wildlife on the property!We saw the elusive pine marten while having a glass of wine in the sun room one evening and were so excited (didn't get a photo unfortunately)!With it being in a remote area, there are also quite a lot of spiders, which was hard for the arachnophobe in the group, so make sure if you stay to keep windows closed or only open the ones with screens, even for a minute.Highly recommend!

We were in the area for salmon fishing on the River Alness. The house was lovely. Comfortable and cosy and all mod cons. I would highly recommend.

Absolutely fantastic place and stay. Really perfect and the host was very responsive!

We LOVED this place. They had everything you you could want. Great location on a quiet country road but close to A9 and great location for day trips! Host was fantastic. Very responsive. We had a fabulous restful time there. Highly recommend it to anyone who wants the Scottish Highlands experience!

Wunderbares Ferienhaus

Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Das Ferienhaus war gemütlich. Die technischen Geräte, besonders die Küche waren modern. Insgesamt war das Ferienhaus sehr gut ausgestattet. Auch der Außenbereich war wirklich schön. Es gab Platz und Lieblingsecken für alle. Wir kommen gern wieder!

A comfortable haven from the busy world.

Its a lovely, well-equipped, quiet get away. We totally relaxed, ate well, slept well, and recharged our flagging batteries. Managed to master the pizza oven eventually which of was lots of fun and a great family activity in itself!

Highland escape

Well located house with lots of outdoor space and beautiful views. Roland was an easily contactable host who made us feel very welcome. Fantastic base for exploring nearby countryside and villages - but also a comfy and relaxing place to spend time and unwind. We particularly enjoyed games in the garden and trying the pizza oven! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Wunderschönes Haus in angenehmer Lage

Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Zeit in dem Haus, das keine Wünsche offen ließ. Sehr sauber, tolle Ausstattung, es war alles vorhanden, was wir brauchten. Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter war reibungslos und sehr freundlich. Besonders schön zum entspannen war der Wintergarten. Die Umgebung war sehr schön, ruhig und es bot viele Möglichkeiten für Ausflüge. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Wundervolles Ferienhaus

Wir (6 Personen) haben einen wunderbaren Urlaub im Pförtnerhaus gemacht. Die Küche hatte alles was man braucht, der Herd begeistert jeden Hobbykoch. Der Wintergarten ist das I-Tüppelchen, das Wohnzimmer haben wir gar nicht benutzt. Toll ist der riesengroße Garten, wir hatten auch überwiegend schönes Wetter. Ein Schlafzimmer befindet sich im Erdgeschoß und hat das eine Bad/Toilette ensuite, das andere Bad mit Toilette ist dann mit den anderen 3 Schlafzimmern oben. Einkaufen ist in Evanton oder Dingwall möglich.Wir kommen gerne wieder!!!

Magnifique cottage

Alors que nos bagages avaient été perdus, le cottage nous a permis néanmoins de passer un formidable séjour et de profiter de nos vacances. Il est très confortable, très très bien équipé (incroyable cuisine) et on se sent très vite comme chez soi. Le cottage est encore mieux que sur les photos et la véranda est un vrai plus ! Le jardin est magnifique ainsi que la vue depuis le 1er étage. C’est très calme et reposant. Nous avons bien pu profiter des environs et avons fait beaucoup d’excursions très variées. Nous n’avons pas rencontré les propriétaires mais la communication a été excellente et le cadeau d’arrivée très apprécié par toute la famille. Merci pour tout! Catherine et Benoît

Very nice!

The home is beautiful. The surrounding property is gorgeous! The house has more than enough room for many people without feeling crowed. The range is a dream. The hosts are wonderful and quick to respond! A couple slight drawbacks. I am sure it is listed somewhere but I missed it. The need to replenish all you use. I am not use to that. When we arrived, we needed to buy soap for both bathrooms and kitchen sink. Toilet paper was very limited as were the paper towels. The store is close so replacing was easy - just unexpected. All other vrbo places we have stayed in (and that is many) are fully stocked. The host did bring over garbage bags since we could not find any. Loved our stay in Scotland!

Home away from home

This property is beautiful. Exactly how it is pictured. As the other reviewers mentioned, the sunroom was our favorite room in the house. Perfect for coffee/tea in the morning, and unwinding after a day of touring at night. The kitchen was large and well stocked with everything we needed. Plenty of hot water for showers and cleaning/dishes. There were a few hiccups at the beginning that were completely operator error. The host was quick to respond to our questions, and resolve our issues. He was very friendly and patient in all correspondence. The house is "out in the country" so you have peace and tranquility during your stay, but close enough to amenities if you need them. We made great use of the co-op which is about a 2 minute drive down the road. The only "complaint" (I use that term very loosely as it is only based on personal preference, and not an actual complaint) that my family could come up with, is that the furniture is too firm/soft. The couches were firm, and the bed in the downstairs bedroom was too soft for my husband. Again, it's personal preference, not a true complaint, and we don't expect sleep number beds in rental properties. Lol. Overall a great place to "get away from it all" and yet still be close enough for shopping if you need to. We (including my teenage son!) would highly recommend staying here.

This little beauty was the *perfect* space for some deep inner work and reflection in Scotland! The property was well stocked. The space so homey and it wrapped us up and took care of body, mind and spirit!

The property was amazing very cozy the conservatory was nice place to relax after a long day. It wasnt far from anything we had wanted. We felt bad about leaving some bottles in a box cause we didnt see a recycling bin for them. Until when we were leaving we had saw to leave at a plant which we had no idea where and no time to take. But other than that would recommend to anybody for a getaway 10/10.

Super Ferienhaus

Die Lage ist traumhaft - sehr ruhig, trotzdem nahe zu den Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und schöner Blick auf die Weiden. Das Haus ist perfekt ausgestattet. Der Wintergarten bei jedem Wetter zum Entspannen und Genießen ideal. Wir können das Ferienhaus uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen. Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Woche hier. Gerne wieder !!!

Wundervolles Haus

Es erwartete uns ein wunderschönes, liebevoll dekoriertes und vollständig eingerichtetes Haus. Die Küche und der daran anschließende Wintergarten sind unserer Meinung das Highlight dieses Hauses. In der Küche ist alles vorhanden, um schön zu kochen, man muss nicht improvisieren, wie manchmal in Ferienhäusern. Und der Garten ist auch sehr schön angelegt. Das Haus ist sehr ruhig gelegen, aber für tägliche Ausflüge dee es noch gut zu erreichen.
