Denna unika och förtrollande egendom är en del av de historiska byggnaderna i Cerne Abbey, som bildades som Benedictine House i 987 e.Kr., med utsikt över klostergården med stora trädgårdar i närheten. Klostret i sig är privatägt, och gästerna kan njuta av grunderna och vandra fritt. Fastigheten ligger i den vackra byn Cerne Abbas, berömd för sin dominerande kritskärning av Cerne Giant - trodde vara skuren i backen för 1500 år sedan. Inbäddat i Dorset Hills skönhet kan man njuta av miles av härliga promenader, inklusive byspåret. Puddletown, Tolpuddle och Thomas Hardys pittoreska Piddle Valley ligger inom räckhåll. Att resa längre bort är miles av sandstränder och några av Dorsets jura kust. Shop och tre pubar som serverar utmärkt mat, 100 meter.


Vardagsrum med öppen spis / balsam matsal / gammalt pentakök. Första våningen: Vackert, rymligt, belyst dubbelrum med underbar utsikt öster och väster. Rymligt badrum, stort hörnbad och toalett.

Lovely cosy cottage set in beautiful countryside.Ideal place to take your dog. Monty had the best walks ever.Local amenities good, and all within a couple of minutes walk. Would highly recommend for a get away from it all weekend.

Owners were really lovely and very helpful and are clearly working towards a bigger vision for the site.. would visit again in a flash😊

Cerne Abbey Cottage Review

Compact downstairs, more spacious upstairs. Very convenient for visiting local places of interest, and within walking distance of three pubs/restaurants and an excellent village shop. Parking very convenient outside the cottage. Thoroughly recommended.

A fabulously homely cottage with everything we needed for our little escape with Mulder the cockapoo.The setting is just perfect and the owner made us feel so welcome. We even got our own private tour of the gatehouse.The corner bath is enormous! Perfect for a long soak after a muddy walk around the Cerne Abbas Giant. The cottage was beautifully warm and having access to the garden was perfect for our morning cup of coffee as Mulder had a run around.The village shop was amazing. There are 3 pubs in the village. We had a fabulous meal at The Giant Inn and the church runs a coffee and cake drop in on a Wednesday morning. We caught the bus to Dorchester. A 30 minute ride away.Highly recommended. We will be back.

My wife and I had a wonderful time at Cerne Abbey Cottage. It is so cozy and the welcome was amazing. Beatiful surroundings and it oozes historical character. We went at a time when the apples, pears and figs were falling from the trees and they did not go to waste. A stunning location with plenty of walks and a great place to explore the many aspects of Dorset. Batteries fully recharged. Thank you Cerne Abbey! The locality of this cottage is unique and most beautiful. The owners, who live on site, are helpful and very friendly. The cottage overall was comfortable and suited our holiday requirements perfectly. The one big reservation was the bathroom which needs serious updating, including the shower which was inadequate and, in fact, useless. We enjoyed a few days of R&R here at the start of December.

We enjoyed a few days of R&R here at the start of December. Although the cottage was a little cool at times we managed. Our only complaint was with the WiFi. We ha d strong signal but could only get connected to the internet sometimes in the morning. The 4G signal was good though.

Fantastic cottage in the charming village of Cerne Abbas, located on the grounds of a former abbey. Very friendly owners and quiet surroundings. Great for exploring Dorset and the Jurassic Coast, ideal for walking and a romantic getaway. Only small downside (for me): low water pressure in the shower.

This is our second visit and won’t be the last. A beautiful peaceful haven ,wonderful walks and views. The village has all the amenities you could wish for and everyone is so friendly We feel that we have been away for a month it was so relaxing Barbara and Michael are superb hosts nothing is too much trouble for them

The cottage is situated in the old abbey grounds in the charming village of Cerne Abbas. It is very quiet and tranquil, a wonderful place to escape from the pressures of everyday life - no phone signal!! We enjoyed visits to Weymouth, Bridport, Monkey World, Yeovil and Sherborne returning to a cosy evening beside the wood burner. We were made to feel very welcome, both at the cottage by the owners and in the village. The village shop and P.O. was amazing - I really believe it sells everything. A great holiday!!
