Regarding the guests upstairs, we agree their behavior was totally impolite and disrespectful of the house rules and of the other guests, and we had to intervene more than once, you were not the only one who complained. Very often we're really sorry to see how people review us poorly just because they didn't read the property description carefully enough to understand there will be stairs to reach the house, and then, as you said, also possibly some more to reach the room. In Dubrovnik, it's all about the stairs, that's part of its charm, but not everyone understands in advance what to expect. Yes, you stayed in a typical Dubrovnik house in the heart of the Old Town so there's not much that could be done regarding the property layout - hence the room sizes (20-25m2).
