Southern Porch Charmer - Walk to Downtown Main Street and Waterfront!

Take a break, unwind and enjoy the peaceful double column porches and charming southern architecture. Private back deck and yard for play and relaxation. The home provides a large kitchen with open den for enjoying time together, as well as, a formal dining room and living room parlor. Master bedroom with full bath on first floor and two bedrooms, full bath and private office on second floor. Washer and dryer at your disposal.
The entire 3 bedroom 2 full bath property, the beautiful wraparound southern style front porch, back deck and partially fenced private yard with coded entrance is your home away from home. Your host is just a phone call or message away for all your needs. Please feel free to reach out for anything, your calls and texts are always welcome! We are local, so we will make every effort to answer you questions and accommodate your requests.
You will be just a couple minutes walk to Main Street shopping, restaurants and nightlife. Also, Edenton's historic movie theater and stunning sunsets on the waterfront! Park in your private driveway and enjoy your time exploring historic Edenton, named “The Prettiest Small Town in the South.”

Master bathroom downstairs had half a half a glass door for the shower and shower head could not be adjusted. Upstairs bathroom sink drain was clogged

The house was cute in a great location there were a few things that were not great. One of the panels of the shower door in the master bath was missing. The shower head in that shower barely worked so these two things made showering very uncomfortable. The back door has 2 door knobs on it so it takes 2 hands to open it which is a pain if you have something in one hand. And the property is not pet friendly as advertised. There is a gaping hole in one side of the fence that even a large dog could get through and there is one whole section of the fence missing on the other side so you can’t just let the dogs out, you have to be with them the whole time to make sure they don’t roam.

Sweet place! I walked in and the old wood smell reminded me of my Grandmother’s house when I was a little girl. Adequately appointed - comfortable and relaxing. We loved being able to walk to the shops, restaurants and especially the waterfront! The only things I can think of that would have made it even better would be more porch type furniture (rocking chairs rather than straight back chairs), a gas grill and firmer mattresses. Overall we had a wonderful visit to sweet Edenton and the surrounding areas! PLUS! Be sure to take the trolly tour and the boat tour - so much interesting history - I could have walked around that sweet little town forever after seeing it all!

My daughter and I spent a four-day weekend in Edenton at the Southern Porch Charmer which was a house from1920. The inside was beautiful and it was within walking distance to the lighthouse. There is a beautiful park by the lighthouse and it has a really nice playground for children and plenty of benches to just relax by the water. We ate dinner at a couple of different pubs and the food was good. Saturday night we ate at a small, brand new, Italian Restaurant called Carozza's on S. Broad St. and we had the best Eggplant Parmesan I have ever tasted and I am Italian. Sunday morning the only place open for breakfast was a small diner on South Broad St. so we ate there and the food was good and everyone was very pleasant. We would definitely recommend taking the trolley ride because we were told about all of the historic houses in the Town. Would highly recommend a trip to Edenton.

Disappointed. Described as a front porch charmer I would have assumed a nice front porch. Porch was covered in dust and dirt cobwebs bugs. It was not a comfortable or enjoyable place to sit. Inside was pretty clean but very dated. Upstairs toilet is not attached securely to the floor. Broken furniture was scattered about inside and outside the home. Some of the bathroom linen was dirty or stained. The overallenvironment was just not a comfortable one.It is an old house and so some quirks were to be expected

Weekend stay

There were some problems when we arrived. Blown fuse, appliances not working and downstairs plumbing issues in the bathroom. The owners responded quickly and fixed all except the plumbing because it was the weekend and a plumber was unavailable. So that’s not on the owner. The home was in a great location. Easy to walk downtown.

For the area, the house fits right in. This also means an older home. Many of the spaces are smaller such as the stairs and restrooms. Overall, this was a pleasant stay with friendly neighbors.

Return To Edenton

I was in Edenton for a class months ago and promised myself to come back with my girlfriend. I did exactly that on Valentines Day, our fourth anniversary of togetherness. Having a clean, comfortable, spacious place to stay the following weekend enabled us to tour the town and sample its cuisine. Although the downstairs bed had been too soft for us and we had concern about the wobbly downstairs dining room table and upstairs toilet, none of this we felt significantly detracted from the “prettiness”, convenience, and charm of the place big enough for two adult couples, with or without pets. We planned to come back.
