It was fine. It was clean enough, beds were comfortable (for my husband, they were stiff for me), owner was quick to respond to any questions or concerns we had. Plenty of clean towels. It’s an old house (as is much of Fairbanks) so it carried the quirks of that era. (And “Landlord special” DIY upgrades) Water heater and furnace in the kitchen, a switch for the microwave outlet, (took us a while to find that), no garbage disposal or dishwasher, low water pressure, etc. I personally thought it smelled funny - just old and musty, my hubby couldn’t smell it though. But everything else was just eh, fine. The kitchen was sparsely stocked. Only one pot, and one frying pan, one small cookie sheet (but no oven mits) a small amount of utensils, plates and cups. There was a knife block, a toaster and kettle and a coffee station, but that’s about it. No other dishes or spatulas or large spoons, or bowls, etc etc etc. So come prepared with your own, or be prepared to use the kitchen sparsely. Many of the surfaces were sticky - but not from NOT being cleaned, but from harsh cleaners being used too much and not getting rinsed off well. Being in Alaska - the land of the midnight sun, blackout curtains throughout the house were lacking. Only one room had them and they only worked ok. The other room only had room darkening (which wasn’t dark enough), and the living room - which boasts a couch to sleep on, had no curtains at all.So all in all, it was fine, not the best, not the worst.
