“I grew up in Fes. I know traditional. This is traditional/modern. I like the vibe. It’s not “stenciled” over a normal wall. This is true craftsmanship everywhere. The house can be quiet and one feels awkward speaking out loud. But truly amazing. The shades close and darken the room which was amazing for my jet lag when I needed dark. “Riad Fes Maya is a stunningly beautiful building. The room we had was ornate and spacious, but dark. Natural light filtered in from the courtyard at the expense of privacy, a concept implicitly understood by the other guests. We enjoyed dinner on the rooftop deck twice during our stay and found breakfasts enjoyable as long as we could stay out of the hot late May sun and out of the glass enclosed room where most guests sat. “I don't even know where to start. Karim the manager was an angel; so kind, accommodating, and also knowledgeable about Moroccan history. Soumaya was fantastic with our endless requests and questions. And then Adil, Ibrahim, and Ayoub were charming/funny, professional, and hard working. The venue was a dream, the beds comfy, and the food was wonderful. Out of my entire stay in several cities around Morocco, this was my favorite stay because of this outstanding team.”
