“Canyon Lake Resort is rather old, but well taken care of. Clean and comfortable I've visited quite a few dodgy hotels around the US where ones have let the interiors deteriorate, this was certainly not the case here even though some of the furniture could do with an upgrade. The rice was rather steep for our visit, in July 2018, but other hotels in the area were even more expensive.”

“Great place to stay. Convenient for sightseeing in any direction. Very clean. Easy check in. Good communication with the host. Also, simple check out routine. The only caution I would mention is the pull out couch is pretty uncomfortable. My son found it better to just sleep on the couch rather than pulling it out to a bed.”

“This was a perfect place to stay. So special, unique, and peaceful. Wonderful location not too far from downtown. The breakfast was delicious. The margarita machine was always such a treat to come back to at night. It was fun playing pool to wind down. Wifi worked perfectly. The management/ staff were very nice and extremely responsive. Rooms and common areas were furnished beautifully. You can tell someone's heart and soul went into making this hotel.I will be coming back!”

“Convenient location to town but also beautiful, located in the canyon, within walking distance to a park/lake with walking paths. Check-in was easy, host is responsive. House was just what our family of 6 needed for our week-long visit to South Dakota.”

We arrived and we were greeted by Deb as we were checking the place out before we went to look for our room. Very sweet lady! It was soooo relaxing to come back at night after our adventures to relax on the front porch! Don’t hesitate book this lodge now!! We will definitely be back!”
