Come stay in a charming residential retreat in Gilford, close to shops, dining, and entertainment. You will be within walking distance of the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion, Gilford Hills Indoor Tennis and Fitness Center, and Beans and Greens local farm stand. Beautifully updated, this 1950s Cape home offers a welcoming open floor plan with skylights and wood floors. One of the full bathrooms includes a clawfoot tub, adding an extra touch of character and charm.

Prepare delicious home-cooked meals in the well-equipped kitchen, outfitted with a full suite of appliances. Handy gadgets include a coffee maker, toaster, and electric kettle. Find plenty of room to dine together between the kitchen island and dining table.

Unwind in the living area and curl up with a good book or watch movies on the TV. Grill and eat on the deck with its retractable sun awning, or step out into the lovely backyard and enjoy outside games.

Dogs must be leashed at all times when outside.

Added perks include a washer/dryer and WiFi/Roku TV provided by the homeowner. There is also space to store your bikes or a small vehicle in the one-car garage.

Beds were comfortable and bathroom upstairs was beautiful and roomy. Very homey feel to the house. Fireplace was decorative with electric candles. Snow plow came to remove snow. Thank you for a great stay.

Some bumps with the initial check in. Wrong code was given and house temp was set low and took hours to warm up the house. The dryer did not consistently work and we ended up at a laundromat. But the house itself was fine and the location was great for what we needed.

This was perfect for our visit to grandkids. The 2 things we look for are a comfortable bed and a roomy master bath (ample counter space makes for a happy marriage) and this place had both! Along with a well stocked kitchen for cooking in, we couldn’t ask for more. We would stay again.

Location was good for what we needed. Accommodation were good. Updated bath was nice. Decor is lacking. Leather sofas are wore out and need replaced. Additonal lighting in living room. Additional seating is needed in living / fireplace room. Don’t need so many dining chairs - need comfortable reading chairs and foot stools. Kitchen was fine (we didn’t cook).1 hand towel is not sufficient. Bath products and provided dish/ laundry items were great.

Very clean, nice accommodations. Repairs needed to upstairs shower. It leaks and we could not make it work for a shower. The room with the queen bed has a malfunction in the air conditioner. It resets every 32 seconds with an annoying noise. We had to turn it off and open the window and put in the fan. All three air conditioners would make groaning noises at intervals, even when turned off!

Comfort and More!

My son’s family and I stayed in this beautiful home. Large yard for the grandkids to play in, several spots to set up in progress games and we lacked nothing as we prepared meals.We even saw deer visiting the lawn in the early morning.

Charming, comfortable and clean

VrboOur stay at Cape Me Away was outstanding. The location is nicely situated centrally to all the great places New Hampshire has to offer. We explored some waterside towns on Winnipesaukee, like Meredith and Wolfeboro, and even off season these were fun places to experience. The hosts recommended Beans & Greens farm and some local hikes and none of these disappointed. The house was very clean and well outfitted for our family. We felt safe and enjoyed the books, videos and games that the hosts have shared with their guests. The back deck was a great place to hang out in the sun and our girls loved running around on the beautiful lawn.Our 4 year old said she wanted to stay in this house forever so it was a big hit with her. We would recommend Cape Me Away to anyone looking for a peaceful, well maintained/outfitted house near some great places in New Hampshire. The hosts were responsive and made check-in and check-out very smooth.

Absolutely wonderful!

This was a girls trip to visit the town where one of us grew up and this was centrally located to all that we wanted to see. The property was charming, clean and they thought of all the comforts.It was very pet friendly and our elderly dog was in heaven. It was a little difficult for her to navigate the steep, narrow stairs to get to the bedrooms, but it all worked out since we only went up and down twice a day. It would have been nice to trade out one of the 3 twin beds for a double or queen, but we still loved all the rooms.And while we were a little early in the season where a lot of things were still closed, it gives us another reason to go back, which we would love to do.

Gunstock Ski Trip

Roomy, sunny cape only 8 minutes to the slopes. The place was clean, bright, and had everything we needed. 10 minutes to Walmart or Hannaford for what we forgot to bring. Loved the claw foot tub with bubble bath and a view of snow covered pines. Thank you for sharing your home

Short drive to Weirs Beach and Lake Winnepasaukee, no I can never spell that properly. House was equipped and clean. Quiet area and close to a Farmers market offering produce, beer, a couple of farm animals for kids, live entertainment, and more. Close to stores, grocery, CVS, Dunkin Donuts. Would recommend.

Great house and Beautiful Location!

We were able to enjoy this house for several nights in July. It was a beautiful location and the house was just right. The main level was great for working and eating and the 3 bedrooms upstairs were separate, which was nice. We went for a several walks, and there weren't any sidewalks in the neighborhood, but the cars looked out for us.

Great home base for the Lakes region

My partner and dog stayed here for a week in early April. The house was as nice as the pictures in the listing and was a cozy home base for exploring the surrounding area. The kitchen had all the basics for cooking simple meals. The bathroom, living room, and dining room are spacious with nice light. My partner worked remotely during our stay— the WiFi was not strong enough for him to work upstairs, so he ended up sitting in the kitchen, which was a little awkward. Other than that, a wonderful house that instantly felt like home!
