“Beautiful cabin in woods with view of mtns! Off the beaten path, but still close to anything needed. Cabin is restored from an older cabin, but has all modern conveniences. Highly recommend if looking to stay in a restored older cabin while visiting Charlottesville area.”

“The cabin was the perfect way to spend a weekend getaway. The views at sunrise and sunset were to die for. It was just as nice spending time in the cabin as it was hiking in Shenandoah and exploring nearby Orange. The entire weekend was such a nice escape from the city. I wholeheartedly recommend staying here.”

We picked this place since it was close to President Monroe’s house; MountPelier (sp) - Dolley and James Madison’s plantation. We wander the countryside so beautiful. “We wanted to check out the area for a possible move coming up. Although, it was a bit more in the woods and up into the mountain than I had realized (people were not kidding when they said to make sure you have 4 wheel drive) it was a really great stay for us. My husband and two sons had to meet us there the second day so I guess that is why the cabin straight in the woods was a bigger deal to me and my daughter going it alone. It is a super cute cabin in the woods with the most beautiful view...

“Enjoyed everything about this place! Spectacularly clean. Comfy beds. Great gathering spaces indoors and out. Close to everything in the region. Fabulous evenings at the fire pit after grilled dinners in the deck. Completely hassle free entry. Everything works. Exactly as pictured/described !!”

“This was THE perfect spot for one last hurrah/downtime before the school year and sports pick back up. It was remote and quiet with cover water access and kayaks. Everything in the kitchen works beautifully and their is plenty of beds and space to spread out. We really enjoyed our stay”

“One (probably the smallest) of several lodgings on the property. Overall, a pretty cool place to stay. The whole unit has a subtle sway to rock you to sleep. Personally, I loved it. We stayed in 90 degree weather and the A/C was a LIFESAVER. My only real complaint was one of the other guests in the castle kept leaving the common kitchen a bit messy. Thinking about coming back and trying the hobbit house. We pretty much kept to ourselves, but there are plenty of common areas to hang out.”
