“We were attending a wedding nearby and wanted a quiet, relaxing place to stay. Farmview cottage was perfect! The cottage was well maintained and had everything we needed for a short stay. We wished we could've explored the Zen Barn but it was occupied by a group. Some of the cats on the property gave us a tour of the other neat spots like the boat with the sitting area on top and the sauna. All in all, a great experience!”

We loved the hot tub, chilling on the back porch, sitting by the fire at the fire pit, and walking the trail behind the cabin in the woods! Carrie was a great host who was friendly, communicative, and quick to respond when I had any questions. Some of the things we did while we were in the area were lunch and shopping at Yoder’s market, breakfast at Bear Appetit, the Farmer’s market on Saturday morning in...

“This location is off a dirt road off another dirt road - - it's rural, which improved our quality of star gazing! Also, the fire pit was lovely. Be sure to get extra wood from the host. This is not the Ritz-Carlton but it's a great place to stay if you are heading into Shenandoah Park via the Spotswood Trail, Route 33. We enjoyed our visit here.”

“This was THE perfect spot for one last hurrah/downtime before the school year and sports pick back up. It was remote and quiet with cover water access and kayaks. Everything in the kitchen works beautifully and their is plenty of beds and space to spread out. We really enjoyed our stay”

There were parts of the house that could definitely use some TLC (ie. broken trim, missing lightbulbs/insufficient light), but our group wasn’t too bothered by those things. The hot tub could have been cleaner (some of our group got rashes), but the other amenities made up for it. Despite the negatives, we would (and will) stay here again.”

“We really liked the house, the lake, the area. However, we did encounter an ant problem at the house and the homeowner is aware and trying to fix it. Not fire ants, just annoying sugar ants. We ended up having to hide our food in the microwave and fridge, couldn't leave anything out on the counters, they find their way into any container it seemed.”
