Detta ombyggda ett rum skolhus är i historiska Grafton, Vermont. Huset har många av dess historiska inslag. Det är fullt uppvärmd och har en backup vedspis. Huset ligger på 22 + tunnland av vilka de flesta är trädbevuxen.

På första våningen finns ett vardagsrum med matplats, ett kök, ett sovrum och ett badrum. I sovrummet finns en dubbelsäng. I köket finns en spis, en full kylskåp, en mikrovågsugn och är fullt utrustad. I badrummet finns en fullstor bubbelpool med dusch.

Den andra våningen finns en dubbelsäng och två enkelsängar och massor av utrymme för barnsängar för extra personer. De exponerade ursprungliga takbjälkar lägga till en unik del. Detta rum nås genom en trappa och har full fönster och ståplatser.


Grafton är en historisk stad med innefattar ett värdshus, en butik och andra bekvämligheter. Det finns ett längdskidspår / mountainbike område med preparerade spår och lägenheter.

Okemo resort är en bit bort. Denna anläggning har ett stort skidområde på vintern och golf på sommaren. Det finns tillgång till vandring, simning, cykling och andra aktiviteter. Manchester utlopp gallerior är inom bekvämt bilavstånd.

We had a very lovely stay. The kitchen was well-equipped and the whole home was very cozy. There was wood for the wood stove and lots of games and puzzles to do. Check-in and check-out was simple. Just what we were looking for!

Lovely historic cabin with fun and unique character and nice kitchen and porch. Only downside was that the wifi didn't work and, given that there is no cell coverage in the area, it was hard to get directions and generally go places because we rely upon our phones (for better or worse). The not television, however, was a big plus. Thank you.

We very much enjoyed our stay, check in was a breeze and we found the cabin to be a cozy retreat. We have been looking for a place that had a bed and bath on first floor to accommodate some mobility limitations and this home was perfect having a single step on the front porch. It's a nice property in a good location, convenient to both Chester and Grafton, with a yard and a lovely stream across the road. We had some concerns though about cleanliness and things being usable - the floor had a layer of dust/dirt that I mopped the first night; there were old coals and food remains in the grill; the screened porch would have required more cleaning than I wanted to do; the oven was unusable as mice have nested in it, and the smell filled the house as soon as it was turned on; a fridge shelf kept collapsing because it was held on by duct tape. It's a nice house it just felt like it needs more attention than it's getting.

Great wifi! With little cellular service the wifi was greatly appreciated, we all had our tablets and phones connected. The home was clean and cozy with little welcoming amenities. The dogs were right at home too. For anyone looking to stay I'd bring tablets or computers with no TV you'll need something to connect to, to wind down with. The neighbors dog is unleashed but friendly and the little dirt road can get busy!

The property is rustic and charming, but wasn't welcoming or comfortable in many ways. There is nowhere to put one's belongings, there were insufficient supplies of such things as toilet paper and hand soap, lights that don't work, and the furniture is very doggy smelling.

A quiet escape

The house was cute and comfortable. I loved the old feel of it. The location was remote and serene, and we enjoyed the sound of the river across the street while chatting on the porch. We had no problem with making our meals, as the kitchen was sufficiently equipped. Our dog was very comfortable and surprised by a visit from some Guinea hens in the morning. She was less polite in greeting the friendly dog from next door. I was pleasantly surprised that the tap water tasted good, as I had forgotten to bring drinking water and didn't have to find a store. The trip was about visiting, and we got to do plenty of that!

It was okay but needs attention.

After carefully reading all the reviews, we decided to give this cabin a try. While we did enjoy our time there, several aspects need improvement. First, the price does not reflect the overall quality of the property. It is not a fully renovated space and requires significant updates. The shower is outdated and functions poorly, with only the middle section working. The toilet seat was old and unpleasant. Additionally, the oven did not work properly, and the back door was broken, meaning we had to go outside to access the porch. The beds were overly bouncy and uncomfortable. To make matters worse, the couch was very dirty, which made the living area feel uninviting. Another drawback is the location, while the road is not very busy, the cabin is situated directly next to it. This made me uncomfortable letting my dogs play outside. On top of that, the nearest grocery store is about 25 minutes away, which added inconvenience. There is a local market about 12 minutes away but it can be expensive. Making matters worse, I initially had trouble turning on the shower and tried reaching out to the host, but I never received a response. Fortunately, I was able to figure it out myself. Overall, while we managed to make it work, the cabin did not live up to expectations, especially given the price. For the amount we paid, we could have stayed at a much better property with fewer inconveniences.

Never could get the wifi to work. I entered the code on the router 6 times but no luck. Would be helpful if you changed the password for the wifi to an easily entered name. The man who came to shovel unfortunately after we were stuck in the snow was very helpful and very nice.. He got us out.

Cozy schoolhouse!

We loved the location between Chester and Grafton. Stayed in area many times. Quaint and comfy schoolhouse with great sleeping loft. Everything we needed. Only hiccup was listing said keurig and it only had a regular coffee machine so we didn’t have the right coffee for morning. We loved the wood stove as well, so much better than gas. Plenty of dry wood available made it easy to keep fire going. Would come again!
