“Great stay at this historical property in an amazing location! Most of downtown Dubuque is within walking distance as is the riverfront, casino, and museums. Wonderful huge room with river views in addition to spacious fitness center and fun bar on site. Will stay here again in future.”

“Loved the architecture. The host was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. Location was perfect for the concert we went too. Within walking distance of the farmers market if you are going on a weekend. Will definitely stay again”

“The beds really weren’t that comfortable and the fire alarm started going off at 8am when a kid pulled the alarm and the staff couldn’t figure out how to get it shut off right according to The front desk. The shower head leaked bad causing horrible water pressure”

“Four Mounds was delightful! It is a beautiful house decorated with vintage furniture, comfortable beds, beautifully tiled bathrooms, plush robes, and hosts Dee and Willow who gave us a history lesson about the property and its prior owners, and made the most wondrous breakfasts each day before we began exploring Dubuque.”

“Requested an early check in a day in advance. Was told 1:30 "would not be a problem" and room was not ready until 3:30. Breakfast area could not accommodate the number of guests there. Shower drain was plugged, left you in inches of standing water.”

“Paul was a great host. Showed us around the property and our room. Was very polite and welcoming. This is a very quite place and perfect for a couples get away. We had the tower room which has a whirl pool at the top. Me and my wife loved this place. The property has a gazebo, fire place and a small pond with waterfall. Wry relaxing”

“This hotel is very out dated. The curtains in our room were ripped. The window casing was broken. Would have liked to have a night table on both sides of the bed. The tub had stains. Toilet seat moved around like it wasn't on tight enough. The breakfast was disappointing. Stayed 3 days in a row and all had some sort of sausage each time, no bacon? “We booked this room based on cost and location and that they were pet friendly. Not knowing the area, we were ok with location. However…you can’t control the guests. We barely slept. The hallways and doors closing were loud. Our dog is a silent protector. Meaning she won’t bark but she will not sleep and warn us at any hour by shaking her tags that she aware of something not right. Which was nearly all night. People walking above us. Doors closing. “I was there with my Mom for a weekday conference, and the price was a good value for what the property offered. The only thing that was frustrating was the walls seem to not be as soundproof as they could be. The first night there was a guest above us that sounded like an elephant walking back-and-forth about 50 times between the hours of 10 P.M. and midnight, and the family in the room next to us sounded like they were in the hallway right outside the door. Other than that, the stay was nice...

“The online info indicated the 2 king rooms for myself and my elderly traveling companion were handicapped accessible. I asked the guy on the phone if there were high toilets, grab bars and a shower that you didn't have to step over the edge of a tub into and he said that was the case. I was very clear and specific. When we got to the motel none of that was true. We had low toilets, a tub shower combo, no grab bars and a slippery tub surface. Very disappointing!”
