I stayed here to travel in between Hungry Mother and Mt Rogers areas, great hiking and mountain views. Saltwell and Skull Gap are nice overlook areas, also Virginia 16 for Back of the Dragon. Rogers is about 20 min away, as is Hungry Mother, Chilhowie is the perfect small town spot to stay in. ”

“Booking was effortless through Expedia. We were greeted at the door by Pat, the owner. He gave us a quick tour and set a combo code to the front door of the house of our choosing. There is an open snack and coffee area, and "trail magic" shelf full of items that a hiker might need without a store nearby. The shared bathroom was WELL stocked.
